  1. 1. Transcriptional regulation of the Epstein-Barr virus latent membrane protein 1 gene in B cells

    Författare :Weiwen Yang; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Epstein-Barr virus; B-cell; transformation; LMP1; LRS; EBNA2; transcription; transactivation; repression; histone deacytylation;

    Sammanfattning : Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV) is a ubiquitous human B-lymphotrobic herpesvirus that latently infects over 90 percent of the world´s population. EBV infection is usually benign in healthy people. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Studies on N-linked glycosylation in proliferation and viability of normal and tumor cells in vitro

    Författare :Magdalena Carlberg; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :Apoptosis; DNA synthesis; IGF-1 receptor; HMG-CoA reductase; lovastatin; mevalonate; N-linked glycosylation; PDGF; SV40-transformation; tumor; tunicamycin.;

    Sammanfattning : A number of studies suggest a critical role of N-linked glycosylation for cellular proliferation. In addition, many transformed and tumor cells have an altered 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl coenzyme A (HMG-CoA) reductase activity and an increased N-linked glycosylation. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Epstein-Barr virus gene methylation and variation in latency

    Författare :Kerstin I Falk; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Epstein-Barr virus is a human herpesvirus and approximately 95 % of the adults carry the virus in a latent form. EBV has been implicated in the pathogenesis of human malignancies such as Burkitt's lymphoma and nasopharyngeal carcinoma. DNA methylation is one of the mechanisms that is involved in control of gene expression in viruses. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Transcriptional regulation of the latent membrane protein 1 gene by Epstein-Barr virus nuclear antigen 2

    Författare :Lars Palmqvist; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Epstein-Barr virus; B-cell; transformation; LMP1; EBNA2; transcription; phosphorylation; histone acetylation;

    Sammanfattning : The Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) is a ubiquitous human herpes virus, which infects B-cells. This leads to a life-long latent infection, which in most cases is non-pathogenic. However, EBV is etiologically associated with several human malignancies, including endemic Burkitt's lymphoma, nasopharyngeal carcinoma and post-transplant lymphoma. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Prognostic Factors for Death in Small Intestinal Neuroendocrine Tumours

    Författare :John Eriksson; Per Hellman; Kjetil Søreide; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Surgery; SI-NET; Prognostication; Immunohistochemistry; Surgery; Kirurgi;

    Sammanfattning : Tumours in the small intestine are rare compared to those in other gastrointestinal organs. Small intestinal neuroendocrine tumours (SI-NETs) are the most common small bowel tumours with an annual incidence of 0.3-1.7 per 100 000 persons. LÄS MER
