1. Driving technology and development : Usability studies of gear shifters with variations in pattern, stability and design
Sammanfattning : Over the last few decades, the development of technology used in cars has moved forward at a very intensive pace. The focus has started to shift from the technology to the human as a user. LÄS MER
2. The Emerging Outer Space Order : Professional Orders, Heterarchy, Hypermodernity and Political Reason
Sammanfattning : Political order in outer space has so far been perceived as an extension of the terrestrial political order. In contrast, I argue that the political order emerging in outer space defines international relations on Earth. LÄS MER
3. Industrial Alloys Studied by Surface Sensitive Techniques
Sammanfattning : This thesis reports on surface studies of industrial materials whose importance for society manifests in the vast range of applications. In industrial materials alloying is performed in order to improve the parent material's physical and mechanical properties such as strength, corrosion and wear resistance, as well as high temperature performance in comparison to the pure metal. 4. 'A good place to live' : Rethinking residents' place satisfaction and the role of co-creation
Sammanfattning : Developing a place into ‘a good place to live’ for people of all ages is a prioritized issue in many municipalities in Sweden, as well as around the world. But what do we really mean by ‘a good place to live’? How do the residents themselves comprehend and perceive ‘a good place to live’? And how do municipalities view their place and what they offer to their residents? This thesis explores how ‘a good place to live’ can be understood, conceptualized and studied, and the roles co-creation and the residents themselves play in this context. LÄS MER
5. Development of combined operando diagnostics : Applications in heterogeneous catalysis and electrochemistry
Sammanfattning : With the aim to bridge the pressure gap between traditional surface science and industrial applications, heterogeneous catalytic reactions on model catalysts are increasingly studied at near-ambient pressures. Under those conditions, the gas phase has been shown to play an important role during the interaction at the gas-surface interface making it complex to study. LÄS MER
