1. Regulation and function of the human fallopian tube
Sammanfattning : The Fallopian tube is essential for human reproduction. Transport of the spermatozoa, the egg, and later the pre-embryo is believed to be aided by muscular contractions in the wall of the Fallopian tube and cilia in the mucosa. LÄS MER
2. Endometrial, embryonic and ovarian aspects of human implantation
Sammanfattning : The general aim of the studies was to add more understanding to the mechanism of human embryo implantation, which will allow us to improve pregnancy rates in assisted reproduction. The simultaneous positive spatial and temporal expression of pinopodes with LIF, LIFR and HBEGF proteins in endometrial samples from healthy women was found. LÄS MER
3. Genetic changes in lymphoid leukemia
Sammanfattning : It is today generally accepted that the vast majority of malignant tumors arise as a result of genetic changes in critical genes involved in the tightly regulated control of cell growth and cell death. Despite the remarkable progress in the identification of such genes during the past two decades, many cancer genes probably remain to be identified. LÄS MER
4. Leukemia inhibitor factor (LIF) and gp130 in early defence against HIV-1 infection
Sammanfattning : Leukemia inhibitor factor (LIF) is a polyfunctional cytokine that belongs to the IL-6 family which mainly signals through the Jak/Stat pathway via the gp130/LIFR-α heterodimer. The focus of my research has been to investigate and understand if and how LIF exerts HIV1 suppressing activity. LÄS MER
5. Breast cancer : Multifocality, heterogeneity, and related genetic signatures
Sammanfattning : Breast carcinoma often exhibits a complex subgross morphology and may occupy a large volume of the breast tissue and show unifocal, multifocal or diffuse growth patterns. Expression of estrogen- and progesterone receptors, HER2 overexpression, tumor grade, and proliferative activity allows us to classify breast carcinoma into molecular subgroups (Luminal A, Luminal B, HER2-type, triple negative, and basal-like).
