6. Chemical and electronic structure of electroluminescent materials and interfaces in polymer-LEDs
Sammanfattning : Following the discovery that conjugated polymers can be used as the emitting layer in light emitting devices, extensive studies on these materials have been carried out. In a few years, due to the development of new materials and an increasing knowledge of the underlying chemistry and physics, the performance has improved a lot. LÄS MER
7. A study of devices and materials for polymer based LEDs
Sammanfattning : Since the discovery that it is possible to dope conjugated polymers into high electrical conductivity the research in the field of conjugated polymers has increased a lot. Much of the research activity has been concentrated to the design and fabrication of light emitting devices. LÄS MER
8. Focused Ion Beam Preparation and Transmission Electron Microscopy of Materials for Energy Applications
Sammanfattning : Throughout this thesis, samples of various materials with applications in energy converting devices have been prepared by focused ion beam machining and investigated by transmission electron microscopy. Energy converting devices can be solar cells or light emitting diodes, which turn light into electricity or vice versa. LÄS MER
9. Improved bioenergetic recovery during experimental ischemia and reperfusion by irradiation
Sammanfattning : Prolonged ischemia and reperfusion frequently occur during clinical operations. The bioenergetic status decreases during ischemia and reactive oxygen species (ROS) are formed during reperfusion, which may lead to irreversible tissue injury. LÄS MER
10. Neural Networks Applications and Electronics Development for Nuclear Fusion Neutron Diagnostics
Sammanfattning : This thesis describes the development of electronic modules for fusion neutron spectroscopy as well as several implementations of artificial neural networks (NN) for neutron diagnostics for the Joint European Torus (JET) experimental reactor in England. The electronics projects include the development of two fast light pulser modules based on Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) for the calibration and stability monitoring of two neutron spectrometers (MPRu and TOFOR) at JET.
