  1. 1. Laser-assisted CVD Fabrication and Characterization of Carbon and Tungsten Microhelices for Microthrusters

    Författare :Kirk L. Williams; Johan Köhler; Mats Boman; Joseph Pegna; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Engineering physics; LCVD; Carbon; Tungsten; Microspring; Resistance; Teknisk fysik; Engineering physics; Teknisk fysik;

    Sammanfattning : Laser-induced chemical vapor deposition (LCVD) is a process enabling the deposition of solid material from a gas phase in the form of free-standing microstructures with high aspect ratios. The deposition rate, wire diameter, and material properties are sensitive to changes in temperature and gas pressure. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Heterogeneous Photolytic Synthesis of Nanoparticles

    Författare :Oscar Alm; Klaus Piglmayer; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Chemistry; LCVD; Nanotechnology; Metallocene; Magnetic; Photolysis; OES; tungsten oxide; gas sensing; Kemi;

    Sammanfattning : Nanoparticles of iron, cobalt and tungsten oxide were synthesised by photolytic laser assisted chemical vapour deposition (LCVD). An excimer laser (operating at 193 nm) was used as an excitation source. The LCVD process, was monitored in situ by optical emission spectroscopy (OES). LÄS MER

  3. 3. Microfabrication of Tungsten, Molybdenum and Tungsten Carbide Rods by Laser-Assisted CVD

    Författare :Kajsa Björklund; Tamas Szörényi; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Chemistry; Laser-assisted CVD; tungsten; molybdenum; tungsten carbide; kinetics; field emission; nanocrystalline; Kemi; Chemistry; Kemi; Inorganic Chemistry; oorganisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : Thin films of refractory metals and carbides have been studied extensively over many years because of their wide range of application. The two major techniques used are Chemical Vapour Deposition (CVD) and Physical Vapour Deposition (PVD). These can result in the deposition of two-dimensional blanket or patterned thin films. 4. 4. Formation of nanoparticles by laser-activated processes

    Författare :Lars Landström; Mats Boman; Peter Heszler; Joop Schoonman; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Inorganic chemistry; nanoparticles; laser-assisted CVD; laser ablation; emission spectroscopy; size-distribution; Oorganisk kemi; Inorganic chemistry; Oorganisk kemi; Inorganic Chemistry; oorganisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : Due to the small dimensions, nanoparticles and materials consisting of nano-sized building blocks exhibit unique — mostly superior — properties, well differing from their bulk counterpart. Most of the novel properties of nanoparticles (and nanomaterials) are size-dependent, while the majority of the common gasphase methods used for generation of nanopowders result in different, usually wide, size-dispersions.
