1. Laser-Based Investigations of Combustion Phenomena in Gas Turbine Related Burners
Sammanfattning : Experiments were performed on various combustion devices to investigate the flames employing different optical measurement techniques under atmospheric pressure conditions. Non-intrusive laser-based techniques provided in-situ information concerning different parameters of the combustion process, with a high degree of temporal and spatial resolution. LÄS MER
2. Impacts of alternative combustion diluents and hydrogen addition on a swirl-stabilized flame related to gas turbine application
Sammanfattning : The global energy tendency leads to increasing attention on clean combustion technologies in order to eliminate adverse impacts on the environment. The utilization of oxyfuel combustion (CO2 acts as the only combustion dilution), flame diluents, and hydrogen fuel in gas turbine combustion provides a promising solution to reduce combustion pollutant emissions. 3. Compact diode-pumped solid-state lasers
Sammanfattning : Compact diode-pumped solid-state lasers (DPSSL) arecontinuously replacing traditional gas lasers as well asenabling completely new technology. However, compact and costefficient designs are required to satisfy end-user demands. Theaim of this thesis was therefore to investigate novel laserdesigns for given applications considering these demands. LÄS MER
4. Emergent colon cancer and postoperative complications - risks and management
Sammanfattning : Background:Colorectal cancer in the third most diagnosed cancer in Sweden and the second most common cause of cancer-related death in Sweden and worldwide. 10-30% of the cases present as emergencies, of which 80% are caused by large bowel obstruction (LBO). LÄS MER
5. Corporate governance and the firm's behaviour towards stakeholders
Sammanfattning : Obey the Law and Do a Little Bit Extra? The paper provides evidence on how firms’ stakeholder orientation is associated with standard measures of corporate governance using a panel of 1778 US companies during the period of 1995-2006. We construct two binary indicators, one measuring stakeholder hostility and the other stakeholder friendliness using data from KLD ratings agency. LÄS MER
