  1. 1. Development of in silico methods to aid chemical risk assessment : focusing on kinetic interactions in mixtures

    Författare :Elena Golosovskaia; Patrik L. Andersson; Stefan Örn; Patrik Rydén; Ester Papa; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; QSAR; physiologically based kinetic; PBK; zebrafish; ADME; mixture; bisphenols; PFAS; toxicokinetics; environmental science; miljövetenskap; Toxicology; toxikologi;

    Sammanfattning : The environment and biota are constantly exposed to numerous chemicals through contaminated food, soil, water, and air. These chemicals can be taken up and distributed to reach sensitive tissues where they may cause various effects. Many of these chemicals lack data on their environmental and human health effects. 2. 2. Fish population responses to climate change : Causes and consequences

    Författare :Matilda L. Andersson; Peter Eklöv; Brian Hayden; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; browning; climate change; DOC; intraspecific variation; metabolism; resource use; warming;

    Sammanfattning : Lake environments are heterogeneous, and animals show a variety of adaptations to deal with this heterogeneity. Fish often show intraspecific variation in diet, metabolism, and behavior, corresponding to their habitat use. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Computational methods for assessing chemical risk : focusing on toxicokinetic modelling in zebrafish (danio rerio)

    Författare :Ioana C. Chelcea; Patrik L. Andersson; Timo Hamers; Jessica Legradi; Stefan Örn; Carolina Vogs; Nynke Kramer; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; PBTK; Toxicokinetics; Endocrine disruptors; bisphenols; zebrafish; embryo; Toxicology; toxikologi;

    Sammanfattning : New chemicals are constantly produced and large data gaps exist on hazards of currently used industrial chemicals, stressing the need for rapid, ethically sound and cost-efficient hazard assessment methods. Traditional methods for effect assessment based on animal testing, do not meet these requirements and thus the toxicology field has been moving towards the development of new approach methodologies which include in vitro approaches but also computational methods. 4. 4. Predicting Health Behaviour – Population-Based Studies of Knowledge and Behaviour Related to Cardiovascular Diseases

    Författare :Per Andersson; Jerzy Leppert; Rickard L Sjöberg; Mai-Lis Hellénius; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Public health; Population-based study; knowledge about risk factors; CVD; predicting behaviour; family history; experience of illness; obesity; comparison Sweden - Poland; stage of change; health belief model; Folkhälsomedicin;

    Sammanfattning : The overall aim was to study factors that affect behaviour related to CVD (cardiovascular diseases). Study I tested whether gender, education and so-cioeconomic status correlated to knowledge about risk factors, and Study II studied knowledge and risk behaviour from a national perspective (Sweden versus Poland). 5. 5. Quantifying cancer patient survival : extensions and applications of cure models and life expectancy estimation

    Författare :Therese M L Andersson; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Cancer patient survival is the single most important measure of cancer patient care. By quantifying cancer patient survival in different ways further insights can be gained in terms of temporal trends and differences in cancer patient survival between groups. LÄS MER
