11. The link between kraft cooking and bleaching : influence on ECF bleachabiblity and bleaching effluent parameters
Sammanfattning : The link between kraft cooking and bleaching was investigated, with the focus on how cooking kappa number, cooking conditions and pre-bleaching stages influence ECF bleachability and environmental parameters in the bleaching effluent. In one part of the study standard cooking conditions were used to produce birch and spruce pulps of different kappa numbers and then we studied how the AOX in the ECF bleaching effluent was affected by oxygen delignification, and hot acid stages. 12. On the Course of Kraft Cooking - The impact of ionic strength
Sammanfattning : Kraft pulping is the dominant process currently used to produce chemical pulps, and has been applied for more than 130 years. A large number of studies have been conducted to gain a better understanding of the delignification kinetics as well as the reactions of the wood components being dissolved during the cooking process. 13. Aspects of extended impregnation kraft cooking for high-yield pulping of hardwood
Sammanfattning : The long-term trend regarding wood is an increase in price. Because wood contributes to a large part of production costs, the efficient utilisation of wood is greatly desired to reduce production costs for kraft pulp producers. During the 1990s, the development of improved modified kraft cooking began, which led to higher yields. LÄS MER
14. Some aspects on extended kraft pulping : the influence of cooking parameters on delignification, bleachability and carbohydrate degradation

15. Improved selectivity in kraft cooking through changesin the cooking liquor concentration profiles
Sammanfattning : In the production of bleached kraft pulp, extendeddelignification in the cooking stage is a method of reducingthe load on the receiving waters. A low lignin content (lowkappa number) also means a reduced need for bleachingchemicals. LÄS MER
