1. Boundary integral methods for fast and accurate simulation of droplets in two-dimensional Stokes flow
Sammanfattning : Accurate simulation of viscous fluid flows with deforming droplets creates a number of challenges. This thesis identifies these principal challenges and develops a numerical methodology to overcome them. Two-dimensional viscosity-dominated fluid flows are exclusively considered in this work. 2. Shorelines of adaptation and fields of innovation : Emerging sustainability transformations in sea-level rise planning and the food system
Sammanfattning : This licentiate thesis builds on the understanding that there is an urgent need for radical and systemic transformations towards sustainability in all parts of society, since current socio-ecological relations are highly unsustainable. The aim of the thesis is to explore emerging societal transformations towards strengthened sustainability through case studies within planning for sea-level rise and the food system, respectively. 3. An Experimental and Theoretical Study of the Mass Transport in Lithium-Ion Battery Electrolytes
Sammanfattning : Lithium‐ion batteries are particularly suitable as energy storage solutions in high power applications, such as hybrid electric vehicles. It is generally considered that one of the processes that limit the power density for lithium‐ion batteries is the mass transport in the electrolyte. LÄS MER
4. Teacher Education Becoming Elsewhere : An Affirmative Critique of Student Experiences through Intersectional Corpomaterial Perspectives
Sammanfattning : In this thesis, teacher education is examined with the aim to develop knowledge on teacher education and how it affects student teachers that are regularly marginalised in society by intersectional power structures. The aim is also to develop knowledge on how these student teachers affect teacher education. LÄS MER
5. On-line Sample Pretreatment Based on Membrane Enrichment, Mainly Using Supported Liquid Membranes, for Chromatographic Analysis
Sammanfattning : The main objective of this work was to construct practical analytical systems for the analysis of environmental and biological samples, using membrane-based techniques for sample pretreatment and chromatography for final analysis. Two types of membrane processes have been applied, with emphasis on automation. LÄS MER
