1. Role of tubular scattered cells of the kidney in disease and regeneration
Sammanfattning : With well over 700 000 deaths every year worldwide, kidney disease constitutes an immense health problem for patients and society. The total global number of people with kidney disease regardless of severity amounts to a staggering 600 000 000. LÄS MER
2. Identification and characterization of candidate genes for neuroblastoma development
Sammanfattning : Neuroblastoma (NB) is the most common tumor during infancy. It arises from undifferentiated cells in the sympathetic nervous system and is characterized by both clinical and genetic heterogeneity. One of the features of NBs with unfavorable outcome is loss on distal chromosome 1p. LÄS MER
3. Improving radioimmunotargeting of tumors : the impact of extracorporeal immunoadsorption and preload in rats
Sammanfattning : In radioimmunotherapy of tumors, uptake of the monoclonal antibody (MAb) used is often too low in relation to its uptake in normal tissues. The purpose of these studies was to improve experimental tumor radioimmunotargeting with (a) extracorporeal immunoadsorption (ECIA), where excess of radiolabeled MAbs circulating in blood is removed, (b) or by preload with unlabeled MAb prior to injection of radiolabeled MAb, (c) or by a combination of these. 4. Human intestinal alkaline phosphatase : tissue expression and serum levels
Sammanfattning : Human alkaline phosphatase (ALP) comprises four isozymes, viz liver/bone/ kidney or tissue unspecific (AP), intestinal (LAP), placental (PLAP) and germ cell or PLAP-like alkaline phosphatase, with their main expression in specific tissues as indicated by their names. The isozymes are coded by different genes, but they are closely related, with more than 50% amino acid sequence homologies. LÄS MER
5. The role of Shb in ES cell differentiation, angiogenesis and tumor growth
Sammanfattning : Shb is a ubiquitously expressed adaptor protein with the ability to bind several tyrosine kinase receptors and intracellular signaling proteins. Previous studies have implied a wide spectrum of Shb-mediated cellular responses, which motivated me to further investigate the role of Shb in differentiation and angiogenesis. LÄS MER
