2. Estimation and Inference for Quantile Regression of Longitudinal Data : With Applications in Biostatistics
Sammanfattning : This thesis consists of four papers dealing with estimation and inference for quantile regression of longitudinal data, with an emphasis on nonlinear models. The first paper extends the idea of quantile regression estimation from the case of cross-sectional data with independent errors to the case of linear or nonlinear longitudinal data with dependent errors, using a weighted estimator. 3. Peptidoglycan regulation of Drosophila immunity
Sammanfattning : Innate immunity is an ancient defense system that distinguishes between self and non self and is present in both vertebrates and invertebrates. Peptidoglycan (PGN), a cell wall component shared by both gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria, is the major recognition molecule for the detection of bacteria in Drosophila. LÄS MER
4. Estimators of semiparametric truncated and censored regression models
Sammanfattning : This thesis contributes in several ways to the existing knowledge on estimation of truncated, censored, and left truncated right censored (LTRC) regression models. Three new semiparametric estimators are proposed, allowing for asymmetric error distributions. LÄS MER
5. Older people`s public health care and social services : Functional ability, health complaints, agreement in needs assessment and care satisfaction
Sammanfattning : The overall aim was to describe and compare functional ability and health complaints of older people receiving municipal care in relation to housing and informal care, and factors associated with medical health care, municipal care and informal care. Further, the aim was to investigate agreement in needs assessments between personnel and older people and to investigate care satisfaction and health-related quality of life among older people receiving municipal care and services.
