2. Titanium Dioxide Photocatalysis in Biomaterials Applications
Sammanfattning : Despite extensive preventative efforts, the problem of controlling infections associated with biomedical materials persists. Bacteria tend to colonize on biocompatible materials and form biofilms; thus, novel biomaterials with antibacterial properties are of great interest. LÄS MER
3. Bioactive Coatings and Antibacterial Approaches for Titanium Medical Implants
Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis was to characterize and manufacture coatings and surfaces with antibacterial properties and retained or enhanced bioactivity and biocompatibility. The aim was also to study the optimal composition and parameters of mixtures for debridement of bacterial biofilms on titanium surfaces. LÄS MER
4. Additive Manufacturing and Mesoporous Materials for Pharmaceutical Applications
Sammanfattning : Additive Manufacturing (AM), over the past decade, has evolved into a versatile technology with significant applications in pharmaceutical research. This technology enables the production of drug formulations tailored to individual patients, offering customization in both dosage and dissolution profiles. LÄS MER
5. Porous Amorphous Calcium Carbonate and Phosphate : Synthesis and Application
Sammanfattning : The synthesis of porous amorphous calcium carbonate (ACC) and porous amorphous calcium phosphate (ACP) was developed in this thesis. Porous ACC with specific Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET) surface area of >350 m2/g was synthesized using a surfactant free approach. The high surface area of porous ACC was related to its nanostructure.
