11. Adsorption and Mass Transport in Zeolite Membranes
Sammanfattning : Zeolites are commonly used as adsorbents and catalysts in the industry due to their well-defined pores of molecular dimensions. Zeolites offer porous structure, which consists of interlinked alumina and silica tetrahedra with shared oxygen atoms. LÄS MER
12. Simulation of Chemical Reactors
Sammanfattning : This thesis consists basically of two parts. They are, however, interrelated by the fact that both parts concerns modelling of catalytic reaction systems and also by the fact that in both parts, spectral methods are used for simulation. The first part describes the numerical treatment of the dispersion model. LÄS MER
13. Effects of trace elements in biodiesel on the performance of diesel oxidation catalysts in heavy-duty vehicles
Sammanfattning : To reduce net greenhouse gas emissions, a shift towards adoption of biofuels is ongoing in the transport sector. Heavy-duty diesel vehicles are equipped with aftertreatment equipment, comprising of catalysts and filters, and how this equipment is affected by the use of biofuels is not yet fully understood. 14. Catalytic conversion of syngas to higher alcohols over MoS2-based catalysts
Sammanfattning : The present thesis concerns catalytic conversion of syngas (H2+ CO) into a blend of methanol and higher alcohols, an attractive way of producing fuels and chemicals. This route has the potential to reduce the oil dependence in the transport sector and, with the use of biomass for the syngas generation, produce CO2-neutral fuels. LÄS MER
15. Rhodium diesel-reforming catalysts for fuel cell applications
Sammanfattning : Heavy-duty diesel truck engines are routinely idled at standstill to provide cab heating or air conditioning, and in addition to supply electricity to comfort units such as radio and TV. Idling is an inefficient and unfavorable process resulting in increased fuel consumption, increased emissions, shortened engine life, impaired driver rest and health, and elevated noise. LÄS MER
