  1. 1. Dye/Semiconductor Interfaces : An Electron Spectroscopic Study of Systems for Solar Cell and Display Applications

    Författare :Karin Westermark; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Physics; Dye-sensitized; nanostructured; electron spectroscopy; Fysik; Physics; Fysik; fysik; Physics;

    Sammanfattning : The properties relevant for electron transfer processes between dye molecules and semiconductor substrates, titanium dioxide (TiO2) and zinc oxide (ZnO), have been studied by means of photoelectron spectroscopy, PES, near edge X-ray absorption spectroscopy, NEXAFS, and resonant photoemission, RPES.For dye-sensitized solar cells, the currently used dyes are ruthenium polypyridine complexes adsorbed to the semiconductor via carboxyl linker groups. 2. 2. Roles of PDGF for Neural Stem Cells

    Författare :Mia Enarsson; Karin Nilsson; Bengt Westermark; Peter Eriksson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Developmental biology; CNS; stem cells; neuron; PDGF; proliferation; differentiation; ERK; microarray; transgenic mouse; Utvecklingsbiologi; Developmental biology; Utvecklingsbiologi;

    Sammanfattning : Stem cells are endowed with unique qualities: they can both self-renew and give rise to new mature cell types. Central nervous system (CNS) stem cells can give rise to neurons and glia. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Neural Stem Cell Differentiation and Migration

    Författare :Anna Erlandsson; Karin Forsberg-Nilsson; Bengt Westermark; Christer Betsholtz; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Medicine; CNS; stem cells; neuron; PDGF; SCF; differentiation; migration; ERK; Medicin; Dermatology and venerology; clinical genetics; internal medicine; Dermatologi och venerologi; klinisk genetik; invärtesmedicin; Medicinsk biokemi; Medical Biochemistry;

    Sammanfattning : Neural stem cells are the precursors of neurons, astrocytes and oligodendrocytes. During neural development, the division of stem cells takes place close to the lumen of the neural tube, after which they migrate to their final positions within the central nervous system (CNS). 4. 4. The Importance of Macrophages, Lipid Membranes and Seeding in Experimental AA Amyloidosis

    Författare :Aida Vahdat Shariatpanahi; Karin Öllinger; Katarzyna Lundmark; Gunilla Westermark; Elin Esbjörner Winters; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Amyloidosis is a group of protein misfolding diseases caused by tissue deposition of fibrillary protein aggregates termed amyloid. Amyloid A (AA) amyloidosis is a systemic form of amyloidosis that occurs as a complication of chronic inflammatory diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis, familial Mediterranean fever and chronic infections, such as tuberculosis.
