1. Genomic and Transcriptomic Analyses of Osteogenic Tumours of Bone
Sammanfattning : Primary tumours of bone are heterogenous and infrequent neoplasms. Distinguishing between benign, intermediate and malignant entities can in some instances pose a clinical challenge. For some tumour types, there is still much to be learned about the genetic mechanisms that give rise to and drive these tumours forward. LÄS MER
2. Surgical Site Infections in Dermatologic Surgery- Clinical, diagnostic, and pathogenic aspects
Sammanfattning : Surgical site infections (SSIs) in dermatologic surge- ry contribute to unwanted healthcare costs and are complications that cause su ering in patients. The aim of this thesis was to explore clinical, diagnos- tic, and pathogenic aspects of SSIs in dermatologic surgery. In study I, we examined bacterial dynamics during normal wound healing and SSIs. 3. Indiscernibility and Vagueness in Spatial Information Systems
Sammanfattning : We investigate the use of the concept of indiscernibilityand vagueness in spatial information systems. To representindiscernibility and vagueness we use rough sets, respectivelyfuzzy sets. We introduce a theoretical model to supportapproximate queries in information systems and we show howthose queries can be used to perform uncertain classi. LÄS MER
4. Meson Decay with Isospin Breaking At Two Loops
Sammanfattning : In all calculations done in this thesis, the evaluation of higher order quantum corrections has been central. In the first paper included in this thesis we have investigated the effects of finite volume meson propagators for quark-antiquark vacuum expectation value at two-loop level. LÄS MER
5. Gender matters : understanding of access barriers to community-based tuberculosis care in Bangladesh
Sammanfattning : Background: Females lesser use of TB control services is a grave concern worldwide, entailing more gender research in quest of practical remedies. Objective: To understand the gender differences in various clinical steps for TB care, explore gender-specific access barriers to TB control; and measure smear-positive PTB prevalence in different population groups of rural Bangladesh.
