  1. 1. Impact of Surgery for Primary Hyperparathyroidism

    Författare :Martin Nilsson; Lund Kirurgi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; primär hyperparatyroidism; paratyroidektomi; mortalitet; frakturer; bone mineral density; hjärt-kärlsjukdom; kalcium; paratyroideahormon; adenom; multiglandulär sjukdom; primary hyperparathyroidism; parathyroidectomy; mortality; fractures; bone mineral density; cardiovascular disease; calcium; parathyroid hormone; adenoma; multiglandular disease;

    Sammanfattning : Primär hyperparathyroidism, pHPT, är en relativt vanlig endokrinologisk sjukdom som karaktäriseras av förhöjd utsöndring av bisköldkörtelhormon, PTH, i förhållande till kalciumnivån i blodet. Sjukdomen är vanligast hos äldre och kvinnor, och orsakas oftast av en godartad tumör i en bisköldkörtel (80–85% av fallen) eller mer diffus förstoring av flera bisköldkörtlar. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Vitamin D, PTH, and Calcium in relation to Prostate Cancer

    Författare :JOHAN BRÄNDSTEDT; Malmö Klinisk kemi; []

  3. 3. Interaction between Calcium, Calciotropic Hormones and the Gastrin-ECL-cell Axis

    Författare :Rebecca Gagnemo Persson; Hälsofrämjande komplexa interventioner; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; pharmacognosy; Pharmacological sciences; rat; chicken; parathyroid gland; stomach; vitamin D; PTH; CT; calciotropic hormones; Gastrin; calcium; ECL cell; pharmacy; toxicology; Farmakologi; farmakognosi; farmaci; toxikologi; Histology; cytochemistry; histochemistry; tissue culture; Histologi; cytokemi; histokemi; vävnadskultur;

    Sammanfattning : Calcium homeostasis involves mainly the interaction of PTH, vitamin D and CT. The stomach may be important for calcium homeostasis. Gastric acid is thought to mobilize calcium from the diet, thereby facilitating the absorption of calcium in the small intestines. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Modulation of the calcium-force relationship in smooth muscle by polyamines and metabolic inhibition

    Författare :Karl Swärd; Cellulär biomekanik; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; metabolic inhibition; polyamines; excitation-contraction coupling; smooth muscle; intracellular calcium; Physiology; Fysiologi;

    Sammanfattning : The relationship between intracellular free calcium ([Ca2+]i) and force in smooth muscle was investigated in receptor-coupled permeabilized preparations and by fluorimetry of the calcium indicator Fura 2 in intact smooth muscle. The time integral of spontaneous [Ca2+]i transients in the intact rat portal vein was decreased by cyanide and, during tonic contraction, cyanide reduced force without changing [Ca2+]i implying metabolic sensitivity of both membrane excitation and [Ca2+]i - activation of the contractile proteins. 5. 5. Vacuolar Ca2+-ATPases in Plants. Regulation by calmodulin binding to a N-terminal autoinhibitory domain

    Författare :Susanna Malmström; Biokemi och Strukturbiologi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Plant biochemistry; N terminus; autoinhibitory domain; vacuole; calmodulin; calcium; plants; Ca2 -ATPase; Växtbiokemi;

    Sammanfattning : The calcium ion (Ca2+) is essential for all plant and animal life. One important function of Ca2+ is as a second messenger in the responses of the cell to environmental and hormonal signals as well as in some intrinsic developmental processes. LÄS MER
