  1. 1. A good learning environment for nursing students in primary health care

    Författare :Elisabeth Bos (Sparén); Päivi Kaila; Charlotte Silén; Mikko Saarikoski; Karin Kjellgren; Karolinska institutet; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Clinical learning environment; Supervisor; Nursing student; Primary health care; Clinical learning environment;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Clinical learning is a key part for developing nursingursing education. Previous studies concentrated on hospitals as placement sites. Research results reported in this dissertation identify factors that encourage good learning environments in primary health care (PHC) placements. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Fine-scale morphology and spectral characteristics of active aurora

    Författare :Hanna Dahlgren; Göran Marklund; Nickolay Ivchenko; Kari Kaila; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Aurora; Space physics; Rymdfysik;

    Sammanfattning : Ground-based and in-situ observations of the aurora demonstrate an extreme richness in fine structure, with spatial scales down to tens of metres and time variations occurring on a fraction of a second. To further our understanding of the aurora, it is esssential to understand the mechanisms responsible for the small-scale structuring, since this is an intrinsic property of the auroral plasma. 3. 3. Molecular machinery of a membrane-bound proton pump : Studies of charge transfer reactions in cytochrome c oxidase

    Författare :Emelie Svahn; Peter Brzezinski; Ville Kaila; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; membrane protein; respiration; redox reaction; cytochrome aa3; cytochrome c oxidase; Biochemistry; biokemi;

    Sammanfattning : In cellular respiration, electron transfer from the breakdown of foodstuff is coupled to the formation of an electrochemical proton gradient. This is accomplished through proton translocation by respiratory complexes, and the proton gradient is subsequently used e.g. to drive ATP production. LÄS MER
