  1. 1. Identification and characterization of candidate genes for neuroblastoma development

    Författare :Cecilia Krona; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; cancer; tumor; child; embryonal; neural crest; neuroblastoma; chromosome 1; 1p36; mutation; expression; tumor suppressor gene; UBE4B; KIF1B; PGD; CORT; DFFA; PEX14; ICAT; CASP9; ENO1; MBP1; APITD1; PHOX2B;

    Sammanfattning : Neuroblastoma (NB) is the most common tumor during infancy. It arises from undifferentiated cells in the sympathetic nervous system and is characterized by both clinical and genetic heterogeneity. One of the features of NBs with unfavorable outcome is loss on distal chromosome 1p. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Genomic characterization of pediatric acute lymphoblastic leukemia by deep sequencing

    Författare :Carl Mårten Lindqvist; Ann-Christine Syvänen; Gabor Marth; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) is the most common cancer in children, with close to 200 cases per year in the Nordic countries. Despite recent advances in modern chemotherapies, 20% of the ALL patients experience a relapse. LÄS MER

  3. 3. The role of KIF1Bß in neuroblastoma tumour suppression during sympathetic neuron development

    Författare :Stuart Fell; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Neuroblastoma, the most common extra-cranial childhood tumour, is believed to arise from precursor cells of the sympathetic nervous system (neuroblasts). Hemizygous loss of chromosome 1p36 strongly correlates with poor prognosis in neuroblastoma and the 1p36 gene KIF1Bβ has been proposed to be a pathogenic target of this deletion. LÄS MER

  4. 4. On genetics and transcriptomics of multiple sclerosis

    Författare :Boel Brynedal; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic inflammatory disease of the central nervous system, where both genetic and environmental factors influence one individual's risk of developing the disease. This thesis is focused on genetic and transcriptomic aspects of MS. LÄS MER
