    Sammanfattning : Carbon dioxide is contributing to the greenhouse effect and a significant part comes from the use of fossil fuels. Utilizing more renewable fuels is therefore a solution to decrease the net release of CO2 emissions to the atmosphere. LÄS MER

  2. 2. High temperature corrosion of low-alloyed and stainless steels: mechanistic study of chlorine-induced corrosion

    Författare :Mercedes Andrea Olivas Ogaz; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []

    Sammanfattning : The global demand on power generation is constantly increasing and so far, also its environmental impact. The environmental impact could primarily be directed to the power generation being based on fossil fuels, giving a net increase of CO2 to the atmosphere when combusted. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Alkali Induced High Temperature Corrosion of Stainless Steel - Experiences from Laboratory and Field

    Författare :Jesper Pettersson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []

    Sammanfattning : The high temperature corrosion of steam superheaters is a major obstacle that has to be overcome in order to increase the electricity generating efficiency of power boilers burning biomass or waste. This thesis addresses this issue by a combination of well-controlled model experiments in the laboratory and short and long term field exposures using cooled probes in full-scale biomass and waste fired boilers. 4. 4. Deposit Induced Corrosion in Biofuel Combustion

    Författare :Petter Andersson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; ferritic steel; high temperature corrosion; superheater; waste combustion; CFB; biofuel boiler; waterwall; alkali chloride; deposit induced corrosion; chromate; nickel-based alloy; austenitic steel; martensitic steel; waste boiler;

    Sammanfattning : Deposit induced corrosion is one of the main mechanisms for attack on heat exchangers in biofuel boilers. This severe corrosion decreases the obtainable steam temperature in boilers, thereby the efficiency in production of electricity is reduced. Deposit formation from the gas on superheater tubes are is generally referred to as fouling. LÄS MER

  5. 5. The Corrosive Effect of Chlorine Containing Species on Waterwalls and Superheater Materials in Waste and Biomass-Fired Power Plants

    Författare :Erik Larsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []

    Sammanfattning : To increase power generation from waste- and biomass-fired boilers, it is necessary to increase the temperature and pressure of the steam generated. This implies an increase in the temperature both of the waterwalls and of the steam superheaters in the boiler. LÄS MER
