1. Structural and Functional Studies of Membrane Proteins : From Characterisation of a Fatty Acyl-CoA Synthetase to the Discovery of Superoxide Oxidase
Sammanfattning : This thesis is divided into three parts; the first part describes a method for efficient screening of membrane proteins for crystallography. By utilising the properties of a folding reporter GFP it is possible to quickly and accurately screen the stability of a protein in a range of conditions without full purification. LÄS MER
2. Internal Cooling Design Using Multiphysics Topology Optimization
Sammanfattning : This thesis investigates topology optimization (TO) as a tool for designing optimal internal cooling configurations in components subjected to external hot gas streams. The work is motivated by the challenge of simultaneously considering objectives from multiple physics domains, and the rapid development of additive manufacturing (AM) in the industry, which makes it possible to realize highly complex TO designs. 3. Mellan mäns händer : Kvinnors rättssubjektivitet, internationell rätt och diskurser om prostitution och trafficking
Sammanfattning : The present study has a three folded focus, framed by one over all aim; to critically discuss and evaluate the constructions of women’s legal subjectivity in dominant feminist discourses on prostitution and trafficking. First, I set out to develop a gender theoretical understanding of prostitution. LÄS MER
4. Alkali Metal Adsorption on Metals Studied by Hiqh Resolution Core Level Spectroscopy and Low Energy Electron Diffraction
Sammanfattning : Alkali metal adsorption on metals is studied by High Resolution Core Level Spectroscopy (HRCLS) and Low Energy Electron Diffraction (LEED). The studies can be divided into two parts: adsorption of alkali multilayers and alkali adsorption in the submonolayer regime. LÄS MER
5. Development of strength and heat of hydration of young concrete at low temperature - influence of granulated blast furnace slag, silica and limestone
Sammanfattning : The work presented in this licentiate thesis was carried out within the project task Use of industrial by-products and filler in concrete, part Early-age strength development at low temperatures in concrete with mineral additions/fillers. To improve the understanding and to increase the data available, the study investigated the development of compressive strength and heat of hydration while curing at 5°C compared with curing at 20°C.
