  1. 1. Microfabrication for Biological Applications. Preparation, Characterization and Biological Evaluation

    Författare :Julie Gold; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; asbestos; surface spectroscopy; lithography; microfabrication; fibers; surface modification; biomaterials;

    Sammanfattning : Foreign materials are intentionally placed into patients in the form of medical devices for replacing or repairing damaged portions of the body. Materials also enter the body unintentionally in the form of particulates and fibers, and can then have damaging effects, such as the formation of disease or even cancer. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Biodegradable gelatin microcarriers in tissue engineering : In vitro studies on cartilage and bone

    Författare :Sofia Pettersson; Gunnar Kratz; Pentti Tengvall; Jonas Wetterö; Julie Gold; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Sammanfattning : Tissue engineering is a multidisciplinary field that combines cells, biomaterial scaffolds and environmental factors to achieve functional tissue repair. This thesis focuses on the use of macroporous gelatin microcarriers as scaffolds in tissue engineering applications, with a special focus on cartilage and bone formation by human adult cells in vitro. 3. 3. Characterization of [18F]flutemetamol binding properties : A β-amyloid PET imaging ligand

    Författare :Kerstin Heurling; Mark Lubberink; Jens Sörensen; Julie Price; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Positron emission tomography PET ; molecular imaging; amyloid; tracer validation; Radiology; Radiologi;

    Sammanfattning : The criteria for diagnosing Alzheimer’s disease (AD) have recently been revised to include the use of biomarkers for the in vivo presence of β-amyloid, one of the neuropathological hallmarks of AD. Examples of such biomarkers are positron emission tomography (PET) β-amyloid specific ligands, including [18F]flutemetamol. LÄS MER
