    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; neurodevelopmental disorders; translational research; advanced genomic technologies; Medicinsk genetik; Medical Genetics;

    Sammanfattning : Neurodevelopmental disorders (NDDs) affect >4.7% of individuals world-wide. Most cases are expected to have an underlying genetic cause. However, only 36–40% of those affected get a genetic diagnosis through exome sequencing. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Juvenile birch in Sweden : Selected stem characteristics for interior and furniture applications

    Författare :Josefin A. Nilsson; Åsa Blom; Jimmy Johansson; Nylinder Mats; Linnéuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; Betula pendula; Betula pubescens; wood density; birch bark; Forestry and Wood Technology; Skog och träteknik;

    Sammanfattning : In response to the furniture industry’s growing demand for raw material, large volumes of juvenile silver birch and downy birch stems available from pre-commercial thinning operations in Sweden’s forests could offer solutions. However, such stems are not currently used on an industrial scale, and most research conducted on birch stems in general has neither focussed on young trees nor the potential use of the central stem part around the tree pith. 4. 4. The consequences of DNA lesions for mitochondrial DNA maintenance

    Författare :Josefin M. E. Forslund; Sjoerd Wanrooij; Nasim Sabouri; Erik Johansson; Claes Gustafsson; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Mitochondria; mitochondrial DNA; DNA replication; DNA lesions; DNA polymerase γ; ribonucleotide incorporation; medicinsk biokemi; Medical Biochemistry;

    Sammanfattning : Eukaryotic cells have their own energy-producing organelles called mitochondria. The energy is stored in the adenosine triphosphate (ATP) molecule and is produced via the oxidative phosphorylation process inside the mitochondria. Thirteen of the essential proteins required for this process are encoded on the mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA). LÄS MER
