  1. 16. Modeling aspects of reliability-based design of lined rock caverns

    Författare :Davi Rodrigues Damasceno; Fredrik Johansson; Johan Spross; Rafael Jimenez; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Lined rock cavern; reliability-based design; analytical modeling; finite element modeling; underground gas storage; Inklädda bergrum; tillförlitlighetsbaserad design; analytisk modellering; finita elementmodellering; underjordisk gaslagring; Soil and Rock Mechanics; Jord- och bergmekanik;

    Sammanfattning : The storage of large quantities of hydrogen gas in underground lined rock caverns (LRCs) could contribute to an efficient supply of fossil-free energy. The consequences of failure of such storage can be catastrophic, so representative predictive models and a small probability of failure are needed for the LRC design. LÄS MER

  2. 17. Rock Mass Response to Coupled Mechanical Thermal Loading : Äspö Pillar Stability Experiment, Sweden

    Författare :J. Christer Andersson; Håkan Stille; Charles Fairhurst; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Yielding; Spalling; Rock mass strength; Confinement; Fracturing; Tensile failure; Shear failure; Displacement; Acoustic Emission; Heating; Stress; Back calculation; Radial expansion; Mining engineering; Gruvteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The geological disposal of nuclear waste, in underground openings and the long-term performance of these openings demand a detailed understanding of fundamental rock mechanics. A full scale field experiment: Äspö Pillar Stability Experiment was conducted at a depth of 450 m in sparsely fractured granitic rock to examine the rock mass response between two deposition holes. 3. 18. On reliability-based design of rock tunnel support

    Författare :William Bjureland; Stefan Larsson; Fredrik Johansson; Johan Spross; Lars Rosén; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Rock engineering; reliability-based design; Eurocode 7; observational method; tunnel engineering; Bergmekanik; sannolikhetsbaserad dimensionering; Eurokod 7; observationsmetoden; tunnelbyggnation.; Byggvetenskap; Civil and Architectural Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Tunneling involves large uncertainties. Since 2009, design of rock tunnels in European countries should be performed in accordance with the Eurocodes. The main principle in the Eurocodes is that it must be shown in all design situations that no relevant limit state is exceeded. LÄS MER

  4. 19. Separations- och filtreringsstabilitet hos cementbaserat injekteringsbruk

    Författare :Almir Draganovic; Håkan Stille; Thomas Jansson; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Building engineering; Byggnadsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Bleeding of cement based grout Bleeding of cement based grout is a complex problem. How it occurs and which basic mechanism causes and influences bleeding have been questions for discussion. Therefore the aim of the thesis is to illustrate what really happens with grout during bleeding and which factors influence it. LÄS MER

  5. 20. Artificial Ground Freezingin Clayey Soils : Laboratory and Field Studies of Deformations During Thawing at the Bothnia Line

    Författare :Teddy Johansson; Staffan Hintze; Håkan Stille; Sven Knutsson; Kauko Kujala; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Artificial ground freezing; AGF; thaw deformation; deformation; thawing; frost heaving; Bothnia Line.; Artificiell markfrysning; artificiell jord- och bergfrysning; AGF; tiningsdeformation; deformation; tining; tjälhävning; Botniabanan; Geoengineering; Geoteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Artificial ground freezing as a method to temporarily stabilize and create hydraulic sealing in urban as well as in rural areas has been used in a number of Swedish construction projects, particularly during the last decade. One problem with the freezing of soil and rock is that fine-grained clayey types of soils have showed a tendency to under certain circumstances, during the thawing process, create a pore water overpressure and to consolidate, despite a change in the external loading conditions.
