  1. 6. Radon in Groundwater- Influencing Factors and Prediction Methodology for a Swedish Environment

    Författare :Kirlna Skeppström; Bo Olofsson; Per Erik Jansson; Jon Petter Gustafsson; Gerhard Barmen; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Radon; Grondwater; GIS; RV method; Multivariate statistics; Water engineering; Vattenteknik;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis presents a method for predicting radon (222Rn) levels in groundwater on a general scale, within an area of approximately 185 x 145 km2. The method applies to Swedish conditions, where 222Rn is the main contributor to natural radioactivity. LÄS MER

  2. 7. Environmental assessment of incinerator residue utilisation

    Författare :Susanna Toller; Jon Petter Gustafsson; Dan Berggren Kleja; Erik Kärrman; Thomas H. Christensen; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; MSWI bottom ash; wood ash; recycling; LCA; environmental assessment; geochemical speciation modelling; dissolved organic matter; copper Cu ; Environmental engineering; Miljöteknik;

    Sammanfattning :  In Sweden, utilisation of incinerator residues outside disposal areas is restricted by environmental concerns, as such residues commonly contain greater amounts of potentially toxic trace elements than the natural materials they replace. On the other hand, utilisation can also provide environmental benefits by decreasing the need for landfill and reducing raw material extraction. LÄS MER

  3. 8. Enhanced phosphorus removal from wastewater using virgin and modified slags : performance, speciation and mechanisms

    Författare :Minyu Zuo; Gunno Renman; Jon Petter Gustafsson; Lars Lövgren; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; AOD; EAF; BFS; Calcium phosphate; XANES; slag mineralogy; Mark- och vattenteknik; Land and Water Resources Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Argon oxygen decarburization slag (AOD) was tested in batch and column experiments to investigate its phosphorus (P) removal performance. The effects of factors such as AOD dose, initial P concentration of the feeding solution, and aging on the P removal ability of the slags were analyzed. LÄS MER
