  1. 1. The hippocampal opioid system : role in spatial learning

    Författare :Johan Sandin; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :opioid; dynorphin; nociceptin; hippocampus; learning; memory; acetylcholine; HPLC; microinjections;

    Sammanfattning : The main aim of the present thesis was to study the role of the endogenous hippocampal opioid system, and in particular, the role of dynorphin B and nociceptin, in spatial learning. The effects of bilateral infusion (using chronic cannulae) of dynorphin B into the dorsal hippocampus (CA3-region), an area containing a high number of dynorphin-containing neurons, were examined in the Morris swim-maze, a spatial task dependent on hippocampal functioning. 2. 2. Machine learning based control of small-scale autonomous data centers

    Författare :Rickard Brännvall; Fredrik Sandin; Jonas Gustafsson; Johan Eker; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Reglerteknik; Control Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : The low-latency requirements of 5G are expected to increase the demand for distributeddata storage and computing capabilities in the form of small-scale data centers (DC)located at the edge, near the interface between mobile and wired networks. These edgeDC will likely be of modular and standardized designs, although configurations, localresource constraints, environments and load profiles will vary and thereby increase theDC infrastructure diversity. 3. 3. Awareness and Dreaming during Anaesthesia : Incidence and Importance

    Författare :Peter Samuelsson; Rolf Sandin; Claes Lennmarken; Johan Raeder; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Anaesthetics; Anestesiologi;

    Sammanfattning : The definition of awareness used consistently in this thesis is: Explicit recall of intraoperative events during general anaesthesia. Since there is no objective method to detect awareness, the patients must be interviewed after anaesthesia. The form and timing of the interview is crucial. LÄS MER
