  1. 21. Stewardship in an urban world : Civic engagement and human–nature relations in the Anthropocene

    Författare :Johan Enqvist; Maria Tengö; Örjan Bodin; Bengt G. Karlsson; Richard C. Stedman; Morgan Grove; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; agency; Bengaluru; boundary object; care; civil society; community; environmental ethics; knowledge; natural resource management; New York City; problem of fit; rigidity trap; sense of place; social–ecological system; urbanization; water governance; Sustainability Science; vetenskap om hållbar utveckling;

    Sammanfattning : Never before have humans wielded a greater ability to alter and disrupt planetary processes. Our impact is becoming so noticeable that a new geological epoch has been proposed – the Anthropocene – in which Earth systems might no longer maintain the stable and predictable conditions of the past 12 millennia. 2. 22. Urban environmental stewardship : Roles and reasons for civic engagements in governance of social-ecological systems

    Författare :Johan Enqvist; Maria Tengö; Örjan Bodin; Bengt Karlsson; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Environmental governance; urbanization; social-ecological systems; Bangalore; India; collective action; naturresurshushållning; Natural Resources Management;

    Sammanfattning : Stewardship as a concept is increasingly brought forward as a goal to reach sustainability goals of ensuring human wellbeing within the limits of Earth’s life support systems. Scholarship on the required capacities for planetary stewardship is growing rapidly, as are the insights. LÄS MER

  3. 23. The fate and effect of pharmaceuticals in boreal surface waters

    Författare :Johan Fahlman; Jonatan Klaminder; Jan Karlsson; Fredrik Jutfelt; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Aquatic ecosystems; behavioural effects; ecotoxicology; acoustic telemetry; field verification; social network; ekotoxikologi; Ecotoxicology; environmental science; miljövetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Traces of pharmaceuticals are often found in streams, rivers, and lakes as the result of effluent water discharge. This dissertation aims to create a better understanding of the fate of drugs in aquatic ecosystems and how oxazepam, an anxiolytic pharmaceutical commonly detected in surface waters, affects the behavior of perch (Perca fluviatilis). 4. 24. On the thermal inertia and time constant of single-family houses

    Författare :Johan Hedbrant; Björn Karlsson; Mats Söderström; Stig-Inge Gustafsson; Karin Adalberth; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Electric heating;

    Sammanfattning : Since the nineteen-seventies, electricity has become a common heating source in Swedish single-family houses. About one million smallhouses can use electricity for heating, about 600.000 have electricity as the only heating source. LÄS MER

  5. 25. Improved techniques for CE-MALDI-MS off-line coupling and MALDI-MS analysis of primarily hydrophobic proteins and peptides

    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Capillary electrophoresis; Hydrophobic peptides; Matrix-Assisted Laser Desorption Ionization Mass Spectrometry; Prestructured target; Off-line interface; Silicon microcanal; Matrix; Protein cleavage digestion.; Kapillärelektrofores; Hydrofoba peptider; Matris-assisterad laserdesorptions-joniserings-masspektrometri; Strukturbelagd provplatta; Off-line interface; Mikrokanal i kisel; Matris; Proteinklyvning -spjälkning.; Analytical chemistry; Analytisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : Due to the hydrophobic nature of integral membrane proteins (IMP) they give rise to several difficulties concerning handling and analysis, which is not the case for the most water soluble proteins. New analysis methods are needed, where the insolubility problems of the hydrophobic proteins due to aggregation and adhesion are tackled. LÄS MER
