11. Development of Neutron Emission Spectroscopy Instrumentation for Deuterium and Deuterium-Tritium Fusion Plasmas at JET
Sammanfattning : The study of high power fusion plasmas at the JET tokamak has been further enhanced through the development of instrumentation for neutron emission spectroscopy (NES) measurements. This has involved the upgrade of the magnetic proton recoil (MPR) spectrometer used for deuterium-tritium plasmas earlier so that the MPRu can now be also employed for deuterium (D) plasmas. LÄS MER
12. Compact Liquid-Jet X-Ray Sources
Sammanfattning : This thesis describes the development, characterization andoptimization of compact, high-brightness, liquid-jet-targetx-ray sources. Two different source types have been developedfor different wavelength regions and applications. LÄS MER
13. The evolution of TOFu : Developing and utilizing neutron time-of-flight spectrometry of deuterium and tritium fusion plasmas at JET
Sammanfattning : Considerable effort has been invested in attempting to generate electricity from the energy released in controlled thermonuclear fusion reactions, with a European fusion research roadmap stretching beyond 2050. Our current endeavors may culminate in a virtually inexhaustible, low-carbon energy source for future generations. LÄS MER
14. Λ/K0s Associated with a Jet in Central Pb–Pb Collisions at √sNN = 2.76 TeV Measured with the ALICE Detector
Sammanfattning : In high energy heavy ion collisions, the QCD matter undergoes a phase transition to a hot and dense strongly coupled Quark Gluon Plasma, where quarks and gluons are deconfined in a volume of nuclear dimensions. At intermediate pT, 2 < p T < 8 GeV/c, a decoupling from pure hydrodynamical flow is observed, most noticeable in central collisions, demonstrated by the peak in the ratio of baryons to mesons, e. 15. The Axisymmetric Turbulent Jet
Sammanfattning : This thesis aims at understanding the downstream evolution of the most energetic features of a turbulent axisymmetric jet. The study was conducted from 2 to 69 diameters downstream, using 3 different jet exit diameters with air flowing at a wide range of velocities to ensure a reasonable span of Reynolds numbers, while still keeping it in a high range, from 40,000 to 156,700.
