1. Aldehyde toxicity in human oral epithelium
Sammanfattning : Human oral epithelium is an established target for aldehyde toxicity, including from usage of tobacco, intake of foods and fluids, leaching of dental materials, and from mouth inhalation of aldehydes in the work environment. Following establishment of culture/exposure protocols for oral cell cultures, toxicity mechanisms and risk of malignant transformation from aldehyde exposure was investigated, including the metabolic defense offered by alcohol dehydrogenase 3 (ADH3) against formaldehyde toxicity. 2. Optimal Engine Operation in a Multi-Mode CVT Wheel Loader
Sammanfattning : Throughout the vehicular industry there is a drive for increased fuel efficiency. This is the case also for heavy equipment like wheel loaders. The operation of such machines is characterized by its highly transient nature, the episodes of high tractive effort at low speed and that power is used by both the transmission and the working hydraulics. 3. The Immune System in the Oldest-Old : Clinical and Immunological Studies in the NONA Immune Cohort
Sammanfattning : The oldest-old (people aged 80 or older) constituted 5 % of the population in Sweden in 2000, an increase from 1.5 % fifty years earlier. The immune system undergoes dramatic changes at high age, sometimes referred to as “immunosenescence”. LÄS MER
4. Self-Service Recovery
Sammanfattning : Service recovery is about problems. What happens when customers experience problems? Well, sometimes customers complain to the one responsible for the service. Sometimes customers do not complain but instead tell somebody else about the problem, possibly leading to a bad reputation for the one responsible for the service. LÄS MER
5. Advances in Separation Science : . Molecular Imprinting: Development of Spherical Beads and Optimization of the Formulation by Chemometrics
Sammanfattning : An intrinsic mathematical model for simulation of fixed bed chromatography was demonstrated and compared to more simplified models. The former model was shown to describe variations in the physical, kinetic, and operating parameters better than the latter ones. LÄS MER
