2. Tectonic History and Present-Day Deformation in the Zagros Fold-Thrust Belt
Sammanfattning : This thesis uses various approaches such as observation of satellite images, field investigations, analogue modeling and GPS measurements to constrain deformation of the basement and sedimentary cover of the Zagros fold-thrust belt in time and space.Focal mechanism solutions of most earthquakes indicate that deformation in the Zagros basement is due to shortening and thickening through numerous thrust faults. 3. The Ergodic revisited : spatiality as a governing principle of digital literature
Sammanfattning : This dissertation examines the role of the spatial in four works of digital interactive literature. These works are Dreamaphage by Jason Nelson (2003), Last Meal Requested by Sachiko Hayashi (2003), Façade by Michael Mateas and Andrew Stern (2005) and Egypt: The Book of Going Forth by Day by M. D. Coverley (2006). LÄS MER
4. Reliability, replicability and reproducibility in PET imaging
Sammanfattning : Positron Emission Tomography (PET) is a non-invasive biomedical imaging method which can quantify biochemical markers as well as functional and metabolic activity in vivo. Following image analysis, quantification can be performed using various pharmacokinetic models, or using simplified semi-quantitative methods. LÄS MER
5. Plasma Characterization & Thin Film Growth and Analysis in Highly Ionized Magnetron Sputtering
Sammanfattning : The present thesis addresses two research areas related to film growth in a highly ionized magnetron sputtering system: plasma characterization, and thin film growth and analysis. The deposition technique used is called high power pulsed magnetron sputtering (HPPMS). LÄS MER
