1. A Software-Defined Baseband for Satellite Ground Operations : Feasibility and Design
Sammanfattning : Satellite telemetry, tracking, and command (TT&C) is a crucial activity needed to maintainthe health of a spacecraft or sometimes to facilitate payload data download. TT&Cground operations are facilitated by a communication device known in the TT&C communityas a baseband. LÄS MER
2. Estimation of synchronization parameters
Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with the estimation of synchronization parameters in {Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing} (OFDM) communication systems and in active ultrasonic measuring systems. Estimation methods for the timing and frequency offset and for the attenuation taps of the frequency selective channel are presented and investigated. LÄS MER
3. Synchronization and channel estimation in OFDM systems
Sammanfattning : This thesis addresses synchronization and channel estimation in OFDM communication systems. The joint maximum likliehood estimator of symbol time and carrier frequency offsets for OFDM systems using a cyclic prefix is presented. This estimator exploits the redundancy introduced by the prefix and does not require extra pilot information. LÄS MER
4. Ultrasound Communication through Thin Plates: Understanding the Channel
Sammanfattning : Ultrasound, composed of sound waves with frequencies above the human audible range, has become widely used in various technological fields for digital communications. In the past, acoustic and ultrasonic waves were employed in military and commercial un-derwater wireless communication systems due to their superior performance compared to electromagnetic waves. 5. Channel Estimation Aspects of Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces
Sammanfattning : In the sixth generation of wireless communication systems (6G), there exist multiple candidate enabling technologies that help the wireless network satisfy the ever-increasing demand for speed, coverage, reliability, and mobility. Among these technologies, reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RISs) extend the coverage of a wireless network into dead zones, increase capacity, and facilitate integrated sensing and communications tasks by consuming very low power, thus contributing to energy efficiency as well.
