  1. 1. Shb and Its Homologues: Signaling in T Lymphocytes and Fibroblasts

    Detta är en avhandling från Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Författare :Cecilia Lindholm; Uppsala universitet.; [2002]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Cell biology; Shb; T cell receptor; IL-2 receptor; PDGF receptor; cell signaling; adapter proteins; LAT; Vav; PLC-g1; SLP-76; JAK1; JAK3; Jurkat cells; T cells; NK cells; Apoptosis.; Cellbiologi; MEDICINE Morphology; cell biology; pathology Cell biology; MEDICIN Morfologi; cellbiologi; patologi Cellbiologi; medicinsk cellbiologi; Medical Cell Biology;

    Sammanfattning : Stimulation of the T cell receptor (TCR) induces tyrosine phosphorylation of numerous intracellular proteins, leading to activation of the interleukin-2 (IL-2) gene in T lymphocytes. Shb is a ubiquitously expressed adapter protein, with the ability to associate with the T cell receptor and several signaling proteins in T cells, including: the TCR ζ-chain, LAT, PLC-γ1, Vav, SLP-76 and Gads. 2. 2. Receptors for growth hormone and prolactin. Regulation and activation

    Detta är en avhandling från Göteborg

    Författare :Gunnel Hellgren; Göteborgs universitet.; Gothenburg University.; [2000]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Growth hormone; GH receptor; Janus kinase; GH sensitivity; 5 -untranslated region; prolactin; prolactin receptor adipose tissue; liver; skeletal muscle; epidermal growth factor receptor; tyrosine kinase; kinase activity;

    Sammanfattning : Cytokine receptor activation is dependent on ligand-induced receptor dimerization or oligomerization and subsequent activation of several intracellular proteins. Activation of Janus kinases (Jaks) is probably the first intracellular event that occurs after receptor dimerization. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Platelet-derived growth factor-induced signal transduction

    Detta är en avhandling från Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Författare :Sigrídur Valgeirsdóttir; Uppsala universitet.; [1998]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Cell biology; Cellbiologi; MEDICINE Morphology; cell biology; pathology Cell biology; MEDICIN Morfologi; cellbiologi; patologi Cellbiologi; molekylär cellbiologi; Molecular Cellbiology;

    Sammanfattning : Platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF), a potent mitogen for mesenchymal cells, elicits its effects by binding to cell surface tyrosine kinase receptors, denoted α- and β-receptors. This thesis describes the mechanism of interaction between stimulated PDGF receptors and various intracellular molecules. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Interferon-alpha signaling and cell cycle regulation in neuroendocrine tumors of the digestive system

    Detta är en avhandling från Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Författare :Yinghua Zhou; Uppsala universitet.; [2000]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Medical sciences; interferon-α; carcinoid tumors; interferon regulatory factor; p68; PKR; p21; p27; cell cycle; cyclin-dependent kinase; protein phosphorylation; protein trafficking; MEDICIN OCH VÅRD; MEDICINE; MEDICIN; Medicine; medicin;

    Sammanfattning : The prognosis for untreated carcinoid patients is poor and their quality of life is low. IFN-α treatment has shown a response rate of 50-80%, however, the antitumor mechanism has not been elucidated. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Prostaglandins and angiogenesis in experimental cancer

    Detta är en avhandling från Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Författare :Hans Axelsson; Göteborgs universitet.; Gothenburg University.; [2010]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; angiogenesis; dorsal skin fold chamber; prostanoids; PGE2; indomethacin;

    Sammanfattning : Background and aim. Genes, proteins and pathways have been identified and suggested as potential targets in tumor angiogenesis, but current anti-angiogenic therapies have provided only modest benefits in survival of cancer patients. LÄS MER
