  1. 1. Test Design for Mean Ability Growth and Optimal Item Calibration for Achievement Tests

    Författare :Jonas Bjermo; Frank Miller; Marie Wiberg; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; test design; item response theory; optimal experimental design; SweSAT; item calibration; vertical scaling; ability growth; computerized adaptive tests; Statistics; statistik;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis, we examine two topics in the area of educational measurement. The first topic studies how to best design two achievement tests with common items such that a population mean-ability growth is measured as precisely as possible. The second examines how to calibrate newly developed test items optimally. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Achievement tests and optimal design for pretesting of questions

    Författare :Mahmood Ul Hassan; Frank Miller; Steven Gilmour; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Achievement test; Equivalence theorem; Exchange algorithm; Item calibration; Item response theory model; Optimal experimental design; Statistics; statistik;

    Sammanfattning : Achievement tests are used to measure the students' proficiency in a particular knowledge. Computerized achievement tests (e.g. GRE and SAT) are usually based on questions available in an item bank to measure the proficiency of students. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Knowing if you would have known : A model of the hindsight bias

    Författare :Anders Winman; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Psychology; Hindsight bias; knew-it-all-along effect; calibration; realism of confidence; Psykologi; Psychology; Psykologi; Psychology; psykologi;

    Sammanfattning : A common finding in previous research on judgment under uncertainty is that when participants are presented with the correct answer to a general knowledge item or feedback about the actual outcome of an event they respond as if they "knew-it-all-along", as if the presented answer or outcome was easy to predict. The present thesis consists of ten experiments and offers a new theoretical model of this phenomenon, commonly referred to as hindsight bias. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Occupation-based and occupation-focused evaluation and intervention with children : a validation study of the assessment of motor and process skills (AMPS)

    Författare :Brigitte Elisabeth Gantschnig; Ingeborg Nilsson; Anne G Fisher; Julie Page; Wendy Costa; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Activities of daily living; occupational performance; evaluation; Rasch analysis; mild disabilities; attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder; developmental coordination disorder; learning disorder; sensory integrative disorder; occupational therapy; feasibility; implementation; translational research; Occupational therapy; arbetsterapi;

    Sammanfattning : IntroductionOccupational therapists are concerned with enabling people to perform the daily life tasks they need, want, or are expected to perform for fullest possible integration into community living and participation in society. Children with mild disabilities have problems performing personal and instrumental activities of daily living (ADL) tasks at home or school, and that can limit their full integration and participation in their homes and school lives. 5. 5. Printable Green RFID Antennas for Embedded Sensors

    Författare :Yasar Amin; Hannu Tenhunen; Lirong Zheng; Qiang Chen; Leena Ukkonen; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; RFID; Antennas; Inkjet printing; Wideband Antennas; Narrow-band Antennas;

    Sammanfattning : In the recent years, radio-frequency identification (RFID) technology has been widely integrated into modern society applications, ranging from barcode successor to retail supply chain, remote monitoring, detection and healthcare, for instance. In general, an RFID tag or transponder is composed of an antenna and an application-specific integrated circuit chip. LÄS MER
