Sammanfattning : This thesis focuses on the magnetotransport properties of highly Mn-doped crystalline GaAs nanowires. The GaAs nanowires were first grown by metal-organic vapor phase epitaxy from gold seed particles, and subsequently implanted with Mn ions under varying conditions, e.g., ion fluence and acceleration voltage. Sammanfattning : To guarantee the safety operation, the key states of lithium-ion battery, e.g., the state of charge and the state of health, must be estimated and monitored accurately. This thesis is mainly to develop models and algorithms to accurately and robustly estimate the key battery states, based on the available measurements i. LÄS MER
Sammanfattning : The lithium-ion battery (LIB), the realisation of which earned the Nobel Prize in Chemistry 2019, has since its 1991 commercialisation become the dominant energy storage technology first for cell phones and other mobile electronics, then for power tools and other domestic appliances, and currently for electric cars and other vehicles. However, many applications would still benefit from higher power and energy densities, longer life-lengths and safer batteries. LÄS MER
Sammanfattning : Ion sensing represents a grand research challenge. It finds a vast variety of applications in, e.g., gas sensing for domestic gases and ion detection in electrolytes for chemical-biological-medical monitoring. LÄS MER
Sammanfattning : In this thesis numerical studies, performed with theMonte-Carlo code FIDO of the evolution of the resonant-iondistribution function in the presence of ion cyclotronresonance heating (ICRH) in toroidal geometry are presented. Inparticular it is pointed out how the absorption of toroidalmomentum from a wave field with finite parallel wave numberscauses spatial drift and diffusion, which together with thefinite orbit widths of the tail ions is shown to have a largeeffect on the temperature profile of the resonant ion speciesand also to cause losses of high-energy ions to the wall.
