  1. 6. Process intensification in mechanical pulping : Reduced process complexity and improved energy efficiency

    Författare :Christer Sandberg; Per Engstrand; Jan-Erik Berg; Göran Bengtsson; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Sammanfattning : This work shows that, for newsprint quality grades, the production processes for mechanical pulp can be simplified, and the specific electrical energy demand can be reduced with around 600 kWh/ton (30%). The purpose of the work is to demonstrate how the production cost for mechanical pulps can be decreased through increased energy efficiency and reduced number of unit operations. LÄS MER

  2. 7. Analysing strategic energy-related investments in process industries : applied studies at a pulp and board mill

    Författare :Magnus Karlsson; Lars J. Nilsson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MIND; Industrial energy systems; Investment; pulp and paper; TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIKVETENSKAP;

    Sammanfattning : The potential to reduce energy demand in industrial applications is often substantiaL Since energy cost represents a considerable share of the value added in several categories of process industries, a great potential exists for cutting costs through investment, for instance in energy efficiency improvements. However, industrial energy systems form complex relations not only within the industrial unit, but also in the interaction with their surroundings. LÄS MER

  3. 8. Life-Cycle Costing : Applications and Implementations in Bridge Investment and Management

    Författare :Mohammed Safi; Raid Karoumi; Håkan Sundquist; Jan-Eric Nilsson; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Bridge; Cost; Life Cycle Cost Analysis; Procurement; Investment; Management;

    Sammanfattning : A well-maintained bridge infrastructure is a fundamental necessity for a modern society that provides great value, but ensuring that it meets all the requirements sustainably and cost-effectively is challenging. Bridge investment and management decisions generally involve selection from multiple alternatives. LÄS MER

  4. 9. Process development for investment casting of thin-walled components : Manufacturing of light weight components

    Författare :Mohsin Raza; Björn Fagerström; Jarfors Anders; Mälardalens högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Investment casting; fluidity; thin sections; porosity; grain structure; turbine blades and Niyama criterion; Innovation and Design; innovation och design;

    Sammanfattning : Manufacturing processes are getting more and more complex with increasing demands of advanced and light weight engineering components, especially in aerospace industry. The global requirements on lower fuel consumption and emissions are increasing the demands in lowering weight of cast components. LÄS MER

  5. 10. Företagets immateriella investeringar : En begreppsutredning = Intangibles as an object for capital investment

    Författare :Gunnar Eriksson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Intangibles; capita! investment; investment processes; conceptualization; expenditure allocation; routine activity; non-marginalism; accounting principles; deferred charges.;

    Sammanfattning : Normally the concept of capita! investment refers to tangibles. The resource allocation process deals in this case with the problem of acquiring different kinds of "physical facilities". However, if the concept of capita! investment is made to apply to intangibles, the question of definition becomes confusing. LÄS MER
