  1. 1. Occupational health services in the prevention of musculoskeletal disorders : Processes, tools and organizational aspects

    Författare :Kristina Eliasson; Jörgen Eklund; Teresia Nyman; Mikael Forsman; Jens Wahlström; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Risk assessment; Ergonomists; Observation-based tools; Inter-observer reliability; Intra-observer reliability; Riskbedömning; Ergonomer; Observationsverktyg; Interbedömarreliabilitet; Intrabedömarreliabilitet; Technology and Health; Teknik och hälsa;

    Sammanfattning : Work-related musculoskeletal disorders are associated with high costs and it is essential to prevent them. Occupational Health Services(OHS) provide expert services regarding work environment, health and rehabilitation of work related disorders. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Ultrasound measurement of cervical length in the second trimester of pregnancy for prediction of preterm delivery

    Författare :Pihla Kuusela; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; preterm delivery; transvaginal ultrasound; cervical length measurement; second trimester; prospective study; observational study; mass screening; reproducibility of results; inter-observer variation; intra-observer variation; data accuracy; quality control;

    Sammanfattning : Abstract Background: Short cervical length is a risk factor for preterm delivery (PTD) and screening of cervical length using transvaginal ultrasound in the second trimester is a proposed method to find women at risk Aims: To examine the potential value of routine measurement of cervical length in a Swedish population of women with singleton pregnancies in the prediction of PTD. To estimate inter- and intra-observer agreement and reliability of cervical length measurements. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Novel Analysis Toolkit for Capillaroscopic Images: Development and Clinical Evaluation

    Författare :Abdolamir Karbalaie; Björn-Erik Erlandsson; Olof Lindahl; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :Nailfold videocapillaroscopy; Image enhancement; Inter and intra-observer reliability; Tillämpad medicinsk teknik; Applied Medical Technology;

    Sammanfattning : Nailfold capillaroscopy (NC) is an invasive imaging technique that is used to assess the blood capillary network in the nailfold area. NC is routinely used for patients with microcirculation problems, such as systemic sclerosis and other connective tissue diseases. NC is repeatable and appears to be simple and harmless. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Methods to assess physical load at work : With a focus on the neck and upper extremities

    Författare :Peter Palm; Mikael Forsman; Magnus Svartengren; Svend Erik Mathiassen; Eva Vingård; Esa Pekka Takala; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; risk assessment; physical load; upper extremities; ergonomics; Occupational and Environmental Medicine; Arbets- och miljömedicin;

    Sammanfattning : To prevent work-related musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs), useful, reliable and valid methods for assessing physical workload and risks for MSDs are needed. Ergonomists often assess work by short visual observations without a specific tool. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Different aspects of electronic fetal monitoring during labor

    Författare :Erika Gyllencreutz; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Cardiotocography (CTG) is a tool to assess fetal well-being during labor and to detect early signs of fetal distress and thereby enable timely interventions to reduce neonatal morbidity and mortality. CTG is associated with shortcomings; poor reliability in interpretation, low specificity with a high proportion of false positive tracings indicating fetal distress when not accurate, no proven effect on rare severe outcomes such as mortality and cerebral palsy, but rather contributing to an increased risk of operative delivery.
