    Sammanfattning : The aim of this dissertation is to analyse from an intertextual perspective Friedrich Dürrenmatt's text Die Panne, which exists in three versions: as radio play, story and comedy for the theatre. By means of comparison, the study sets out to determine the extent to which the differences between the three versions are limited to the characteristics of genre, or whether new meaning has also arisen in the adaptations.     Sammanfattning : This thesis is a study of the formation and development of Ciaran Carson’s poetics from his debut in the 1970s up to and including his fourth principal collection of poems, First Language, published in 1993. Examining Carson’s recourse to different kinds of rewriting, made manifest as intertextuality and translation, it aims to account for the thematic formulation and formal realization of this poetics. The present study centres on For Love Alone, the novel in which the prominence of this motif culminates in the depiction of Teresa Hawkins' successful quest, which contains both social and spiritual elements.     Sammanfattning : This licentiate-thesis, Stories About a red Cottage, is an attempt to combine cultural theory with a didactic method applied to Swedish as a field of study. With the two notions intertextuality and the foreign as a starting point, I discuss the importance of how an idyllic view of Sweden affects students studying Swedish as a foreign language as part of their studies in Scandinavistics. Literary scholars and theorists have generally iden- tified two dominant ways of depicting sleep in literature.
