18. Vegetation and climate during Weichselian ice free intervals in northern Sweden : Interpretations from fossil and modern pollen records
Sammanfattning : In this thesis the Weichselian history of northern Sweden is investigated, with emphasis on vegetation and climate during ice-free intervals. The main method used has been pollen analysis of sediments from pre-Late Weichselian landforms. To interpret fossil pollen assemblages, comparisons with modern pollen spectra were made. LÄS MER

Sammanfattning : The mass production of Christian art in the 19th century, including all the reproductions of the Christ by the Danish sculptor Bertel Thorvaldsen, has contributed to a cliché that many persons perceive as a true portrait of the historical Jesus, even though it ultimately stands, not for a historical probability, but for the classical ideal of noble beauty. The thesis takes up representations of Christ by a score of Swedish artists. LÄS MER

Sammanfattning : The subject of this dissertation is the art of the Polish theatre director, set designer, and visual artist Tadeusz Kantor (1915–1990) and its inherent width of artistic expressions. The aim is to contribute with new interpretations that add to previous research that primarily has studied the body of work from the perspectives of the artist’s intention and biography, and divided his artistic work between visual art and theatre.
