  1. 16. Diverse Sounds : Enabling Inclusive Sonic Interaction

    Författare :Emma Frid; Roberto Bresin; Andrew McPherson; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Accessible Digital Musical Instruments; Sonic Interaction Design; Sound and Music Computing; New Interfaces for Musical Expression; Media Technology; Medieteknik; Human-computer Interaction; Människa-datorinteraktion;

    Sammanfattning : This compilation thesis collects a series of publications on designing sonic interactions for diversity and inclusion. The presented papers focus on case studies in which musical interfaces were either developed or reviewed. LÄS MER

  2. 17. Designing Monstrous Experiences Through Soma Design

    Författare :Pavel Karpashevich; Kristina Höök; Pedro Sanches; Jordi Solsona; Mark Blythe; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; soma design; first-person perspective; monster; monstrous experiences; shape-changing; restrictions; uncomfortable experiences; wearable technologies; soma design; förstapersonsperspektiv; monster; monstruösa upplevelser; formförändrande; begränsningar; obekväma upplevelser; kroppsnära teknik; Människa-datorinteraktion; Human-computer Interaction;

    Sammanfattning : There is currently a wave of research and development of novel on-body technologies and materials, including shape-changing technologies to be worn on or used close to the body. Traditional interaction design methods and interface models are not always a good fit for designing meaningful interactions with these technologies as they primarily interact with our somatic selves—not our language-oriented, symbol-processing ways of being in the world. 3. 18. Exploring the Aesthetics of Felt Time

    Författare :Elsa Kosmack Vaara; Kristina Höök; Cheryl Akner Koler; Anna Ståhl; Richard Harper; Caroline Hummels; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; time; temporality; felt; interaction; design; aesthetics; tid; temporalitet; känsla; estetik; design; interaktion; Människa-datorinteraktion; Human-computer Interaction;

    Sammanfattning : By building a felt time repertoire, designers can sensitively feed a sense of time into their design work. And this in turn can help them produce an interaction gestalt that is richer, more sensual. My research on this suggests that this is not entirely easy, however. One has to develop a ‘feel’ for time. 4. 19. Shape and Being Shaped : Sketching with Haptics in Soma Design

    Författare :Charles Windlin; Kristina Höök; Jarmo Laaksolahti; Anders Lundström; Bill Buxton; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Sketching; Soma Design; Constructive Design Research; Haptic Interaction Design; first-person; Människa-datorinteraktion; Human-computer Interaction;

    Sammanfattning : Sketching is an integral part of the design process, and it often occurs in the early ideation phase where the focus is on expressing ideas, thoughts, and emotions, allowing them to take shape and making it possible to share them with others to propel the design process forwards. In principle, sketching is a process of externalising thoughts into visualisations, and it influences the creator and collaborators by enabling them to realise and reflect on the possibility and viability of their ideas and develop them further by adding to or subtracting from the sketches. 5. 20. Engineering through Designerly Conversations with the Digital Material : The Approach, the Tools and the Design Space

    Författare :Jordi Solsona Belenguer; Kristina Höök; Anna Vallgårda; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :Human-computer Interaction; Människa-datorinteraktion;

    Sammanfattning : The role of IT devices and technology in our everyday lives is growing. The commercial availability of sensor and wireless communications technologies has led to an increase in the number of systems utilizing these to provide compelling experiences. LÄS MER
