  1. 1. A step forward in using QSARs for regulatory hazard and exposure assessment of chemicals

    Författare :Aleksandra Rybacka; Patrik Andersson; Christina Rudén; Anna Linusson; Uko Maran; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; QSAR; in silico; non-testing tools; risk assessment; exposure assessment; hazard assessment; carcinogenicity; mutagenicity; reproductive toxicity; endocrine disruption; estrogen; androgen; transthyretin; sorption; Environmental Science; miljövetenskap; Computer Science; datalogi; Toxicology; toxikologi; Statistics; statistik;

    Sammanfattning : According to the REACH regulation chemicals produced or imported to the European Union need to be assessed to manage the risk of potential hazard to human health and the environment. An increasing number of chemicals in commerce prompts the need for utilizing faster and cheaper alternative methods for this assessment, such as quantitative structure-activity or property relationships (QSARs or QSPRs). 2. 2. Benchmark Simulation Model for Integrated Urban Wastewater Systems : Model Development and Control Strategy Evaluation

    Författare :Ramesh Saagi; Industriell elektroteknik och automation; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Benchmark Simulation Model; Integrated control strategies; Integrated modelling; River water quality;

    Sammanfattning : The integrated urban wastewater system (UWS) consists of different sections that are interconnected. These include: i) catchment; ii) sewer network; iii) wastewater treatment plant (WWTP); and finally, iv) receiving water system. Traditionally, these sections are operated and evaluated individually. Sammanfattning : European emissions to air of SO2, NOx, PM2.5, NH3 and NMVOC still today cause harm to human health and the environment. These pollutants are associated with the premature death of ~400 000 people annually in the EU (25 000 perished in traffic accidents 2017). Improvements are expected but problems will persist. LÄS MER
