  1. 1. Design, Synthesis and Properties of Bipyridine-capped Oligothiophenes for Directed Energy and Electron Transfer in Molecular Electronic Applications

    Författare :Lasse Nurkkala; Simon Dunne; Sarah Angus-Dunne; Edwin Constable; Mälardalens högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Molecular Electronics; Organic Synthesis; Ruthenium; Pyridyl Complexes; Ligand Design; Chemical engineering; Kemiteknik; Biotechnology Chemical Engineering; bioteknik kemiteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The earliest landmark in computer technology was construction of the Electronic Numerial Integrator and Computer, ENIAC. Computational switching was performed with vacuum tubes and relays, rather large in size, making this computer rather unwieldy. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Innovations in nanomaterials for proton exchange membrane fuel cells

    Författare :Robin Sandström; Thomas Wågberg; Ludvig Edman; Florian Nitze; Licheng Sun; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Fuel Cells; Membrane Electrode Assembly; Oxygen Reduction Reaction; Platinum alloy catalyst; Nanoparticles; Gas Diffusion Electrode; Proton Exchange Membrane; Materials Science; materialvetenskap; fasta tillståndets fysik; Solid State Physics;

    Sammanfattning : Hydrogen technologies are rapidly receiving increased attention as it offers a renewable energy alternative to the current petroleum-based fuel infrastructure, considering that continued large-scale use of such fossil fuels will lead to disastrous impacts on our environment. The proton exchange membrane fuel cell should play a significant role in a hydrogen economy since it enables convenient and direct conversion of hydrogen into electricity, thus allowing the use of hydrogen in applications particularly suited for the transportation industry. 3. 3. Barrier Properties of greaseproof paper

    Författare :Henrik Kjellgren; Gunnar Engström; Lennart Stolpe; Karlstads universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Greaseproof papers; Air permeance; Coatings; Chitosan; Oxygen Barrier properties; Chemical Engineering; Kemiteknik; Chemical engineering;

    Sammanfattning : The barrier properties of greaseproof paper are achieved by extensive beating of the fibres. This treatment results in high costs for energy, both as beating energy and drying energy. A full-scale trial has been performed to investigate the role of the pulp with respect to energy demand and the barrier properties of the final papers. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Laboratory method for the study of moisture-induced waviness in paper

    Författare :Cecilia Land; Göran Ström; Karlstads universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; method; moisture; paper; paper web; wavelength; waviness; Cellulose and paper engineering; Cellulosa- och pappersteknik; Chemical Engineering; Kemiteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Paper that is subjected to moisture undergoes dimensional changes. It expands during moistening and shrinks during drying. When the paper is under tension between rollers, the effects are complex since shrinkage and expansion are restricted in the width direction. Waves can then appear on the paper web. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Beyond averages – some aspects of how to describe a heterogeneous material, mechanical pulp, on particle level

    Författare :Olof Ferritsius; Birgitta A. Engberg; Per Engstrand; Mats Rundlöf; Øyvind Weiby Gregersen; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Visualisation; Uniformity; Distributions; Independent common factors; Weighted fibre length; Fibre bonding; Fibrillation; Curl; Wall thickness; Particle analyser characterisation; Raw material; CTMP; Process configuration; Sampling accuracy;

    Sammanfattning : For a more profound understanding of how a process works, it is essential to have a relevant description of the material being processed. With this description, it will be easier to evaluate and control processes to produce more uniform products with the right properties. LÄS MER
