The first paper in this thesis investigates whether insiders, in an asymmetric information environment, manipulate the earnings of a firm to influence investors’ perceptions of firm value in order to benefit from their trades. Sammanfattning : This thesis is a study of the relation between macroeconomic policies and the balance of payments. It is focused on institutional factors and empirical regularities pertaining to the Swedish economy.
