1. Epidemiology, outcomes and experiences of living with traumatic spinal cord injury in Botswana
Sammanfattning : When sustaining a traumatic spinal cord injury (TSCI) there will be substantial changes and challenges in a person’s life no matter where they live. In many parts of the world, well-structured systems of care as well as governmental support assist the injured person to optimize his/her level of function and inclusion into society. LÄS MER
2. Cohesive and Spectroscopic properties of the Lanthanides within the Hubbard I Approximation
Sammanfattning : We describe the rare-earth elements using the Hubbard I approximation. We show that the theory reproduces the cohesive properties, like the volume and bulk modulus, and we find an excellent agreement between theory and experiment for the (inverse) photo emission spectra of the valence band. 3. Theoretical methods for the electronic structure and magnetism of strongly correlated materials
Sammanfattning : In this work we study the interesting physics of the rare earths, and the microscopic state after ultrafast magnetization dynamics in iron. Moreover, this work covers the development, examination and application of several methods used in solid state physics. The first and the last part are related to strongly correlated electrons. 4. Europe in Transition : Transnational Television News and European Identity
Sammanfattning : Over the last two decades, Europe has experienced profound political transformations, resulting in new challenges for the relationship between national and transnational identities. In parallel with these changes, national media systems across the world have been put under pressure from globalization, reflected in the vast increase in the number of transnational news channels operating on the global market. 5. Inkas, “flecheros” y mitmaqkuna : Cambio social y paisajes culturales en los Valles y en los Yungas de Inkachaca/Paracti y Tablas Monte (Cochabamba-Bolivia, siglos XV-XVI)
Sammanfattning : The research work addresses the changes that occurred in the valley and the Yungas of Cochabamba during the Inka Horizon (1400-1538 AC) while introducing in an exploratory way, the Late Intermediate (1100-1400 AC) and the Middle Horizon (400-1100 AC) periods. In theoretical terms, we emphasize the local human agency (individual and social) as important elements in order to understand the processes of social change. LÄS MER
