  1. 1. Assessment of experimental neurotrauma

    Författare :Ying-Lai Huang; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Impulse noise; diffuse brain injury; focal brain injury; closed head injury; NSE; S-100; GFAP; apoptosis; astrocytosis; glutamate; c-JUN; rotational acceleration; CSF;

    Sammanfattning : Model systems of closed head injury are designed to replicate aspects of traumatic brain injury, ischemia and epilepsy in man. The aim of this thesis was to (1) develop sensitive systems enabling analyses of the biochemical reactions, as reflected by leakage of marker compounds to the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF); and (2) develop and assess a new model for closed head injury and associated dynamic changes in the brain cell. 2. 2. Integrated pedestrian safety assessment methodology

    Författare :Nils Lübbe; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; assessment; driver behavior; comfort zone boundary; integrated safety; pedestrian; Forward Collision Warning; False Positive;

    Sammanfattning : Pedestrian fatalities and injuries are a concern in many regions. Passive safety assessment is well established, and additional active safety assessment has recently emerged. However, assessment methods reflecting on the interaction between active and passive safety do not exist in regulatory or consumer testing. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Heavy Vehicle Crash Safety - Improved Thoracic Injury Prediction in Frontal Crash Testing

    Författare :Kristian Holmqvist; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Finite Element modelling; Pendulum test; Injury assessment; Accidents; Chest injury; Hybrid III; Heavy goods vehicle; THUMS; Crash test;

    Sammanfattning : Frontal crashes are regarded as some of the most injurious accidents for Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) drivers. One of the leading HGV manufacturers regularly conducts frontal crash testing for occupant safety. The Hybrid III crash test dummy was developed for frontal testing in passenger cars and has become the standard in crash laboratories. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Occupational therapy practice for clients with cognitive impairments following aquired brain injury : occupational therapists' perspective

    Författare :Kajsa Lidström Holmqvist; Ann-Britt Ivarsson; Kitty Kamwendo; Marie Holmefur; Margareta Lilja; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; occupational therapy; cognition; rehabilitation; practice; acquired brain injury; stroke; TBI; assessment; intervention; Occupational therapy; Arbetsterapi;

    Sammanfattning : The overall aim of this thesis was to describe occupational therapy practice for clients with cognitive impairment following acquired brain injury (CIABI) from the perspective of practicing occupational therapists (OTs).To fulfill this aim, qualitative and quantitative approaches were used including interviews (Study I) and questionnaires (Studies II -IV). 5. 5. Sensorimotor function following anterior cruciate ligament injury : movement control, proprioception and neuropsychological perspectives

    Författare :Adam Grinberg; Charlotte Häger; Martin Björklund; Dario G. Liebermann; Clare Ardern; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; ACL; knee injury; sensorimotor control; proprioception; functional test; fear; anxiety; kinematics; electromyography; EMG; electroencephalography; EEG; brain; neuroplasticity; injury prevention; Sports Medicine; idrottsmedicin;

    Sammanfattning : Background: The high incidence of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries in sports suggests an involvement of both biomechanical and neurocognitive risk factors. Athletes are constantly exposed to challenging sports scenarios, which are often characterised by high-intensity movements combined with a multi-stimuli environment and continuous psychological pressure.
