Aim: The overall aim of this study is to describe experiences of, and the association between, fear of childbirth and birth experiences of women with fear ofchildbirth.Methods: In studies I, II, and IV, a reflective lifeworld approach based on phenomenological philosophy was used to describe women’s experiences of fear of childbirth (I), previous birth experiences (II), and fear of childbirth and of birth experience in a long-term perspective (IV). The Virgin Mary has always stood out in the Christian scenery, yet in ever-changing guises. This study explores the characterization of the Virgin in the poetic works of Romanos the Melodist (ca. 490–560), the great composer of the so-called kontakion. Written for liturgical use, these dramatic songs soon became well-known and immensely popular. LÄS MER

This thesis provides a critical edition of the Parekbolai (“Excerpts”) on the first two rhapsodies of Homer’s Odyssey produced by Eustathios (c. 1115–95), teacher and celebrated orator in Constantinople under the reign of Manuel I Komnenos and later archbishop of Thessalonike, the second city of the Byzantine empire.
