  1. 21. Landfills and glass dumpsites as future bank accounts of resources : waste characterization and trace elements extraction

    Författare :Yahya Jani; William Hogland; Monica Odlare; Linnéuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Landfill mining; metals extraction; glass dumpsites; hazardous waste; chemical extraction; reduction-melting; Miljövetenskap; Environmental Science;

    Sammanfattning : Environmental pollution and health threats as well as scarcity of raw materials, water, food and energy are among the main challenges our world are now facing. Simultaneously, landfills and open dumpsites still are the dominant global waste disposal option even with their long term environmental impacts in case of greenhouse gases and contaminated leachates. 2. 22. System Interconnection Design Trade-offs in Three-Dimensional (3-D) Integrated Circuits

    Författare :Roshan Weerasekera; Hannu Tenhunen; Li-Rong Zheng; Atila Alvandpour; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Interconnects; Parasitic Extraction; Repeaters; Signal Integrity; System-on-Chip SoP ; System-in-Package SiP ; System-on-Package SoP ; Three-dimensional 3-D Integration; Through-Silicon-Via TSV ; Vertical Integration; Information technology; Informationsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Continued technology scaling together with the integration of disparate technologies in a single chip means that device performance continues to outstrip interconnect and packaging capabilities, and hence there exist many difficult engineering challenges, most notably in power management, noise isolation, and intra and inter-chip communication. Significant research effort spanning many decades has been expended on traditional VLSI integration technologies, encompassing process, circuit and architectural issues to tackle these problems. 3. 23. Framework For Structuring Information For Environmental Management Of Industrial Systems

    Författare :Raul Carlson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Life cycle assessment LCA ; data format; characterisation; weighting; information structuring; Design for Environment DfE ; indicator; sustainable development; industrial environmental information systems; database;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis addresses information structuring for reducing cost, facilitate understandability, increase relevance and improve quality of environmental information. The research is based in experience, practical results and syntheses from three different but related research and development projects conducted between 1994 and 2004. LÄS MER

  4. 24. Analysis of manufacturing supply chains using system dynamics and multi-objective optimization

    Författare :Tehseen Aslam; Amos H. C. Ng; Daniel Tesfamariam Semere; Högskolan i Skövde; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Supply Chain Management; System Dynamics; Multi-Objective Optimization; Technology; Teknik;

    Sammanfattning : Supply chains are in general complex networks composed of autonomous entities whereby multiple performance measures in different levels, which in most cases are in conflict with each other, have to be taken into account. Hence, due to the multiple performance measures, supply chain decision making is much more complex than treating it as a single objective optimization problem. LÄS MER

  5. 25. Computational Terminology : Exploring Bilingual and Monolingual Term Extraction

    Författare :Jody Foo; Magnus Merkel; Lars Ahrenberg; Dimitrios Kokkinakis; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; terminology; automatic term extraction; automatic term recognition; computational terminology; terminology management;

    Sammanfattning : Terminologies are becoming more important to modern day society as technology and science continue to grow at an accelerating rate in a globalized environment. Agreeing upon which terms should be used to represent which concepts and how those terms should be translated into different languages is important if we wish to be able to communicate with as little confusion and misunderstandings as possible.
