11. Sustainability-, Buildability- and Performance-driven Structural Design
Sammanfattning : The construction, maintenance and operation of infrastructure networks represent substantial impacts, both positive and negative, in all three dimensions of sustainability: economic, social and environmental. The greatest possibility to reduce the negative impacts and increase the positive ones is at the early design stage of construction projects. LÄS MER
12. Reliability-based fatigue assessment of existing steel bridges
Sammanfattning : Fatigue is among the most critical forms of deterioration damage that occurs tosteel bridges. It causes a decline of the safety level of bridges over time. Therefore, the performance of steel bridges, which may be seriously affected by fatigue, shouldbe assessed and predicted. LÄS MER
13. Interaction through spells : establishing traces of nvisible onnections
Sammanfattning : In post desktop and co-located collaborative computer interaction as well as in real world settings, there are usually both private and shared work threads going on. For example: private, individual activities such thinking, taking notes, (dreaming…) and the shared collaborative work tasks such discussing, presenting or producing sketches or document drafts etc. LÄS MER
14. Assessment of Concrete Bridges : Models and Tests for Refined Capacity Estimates
Sammanfattning : Optimising the strategy for repairing, upgrading and replacing bridges in the European Union, and elsewhere, is becoming increasingly important due to ageing of the bridge stock, continuously increasing load requirements and budgetary limitations. Thus, there is a clear need to identify or develop, and implement, refined methods for assessing existing bridges in order to determine the most cost-effective options and actions to extend their lives, increase their capacities or replace them. 15. Load carrying capacity of bridges : three case studies of bridges in northern Sweden where probabilistic methods have been used to study effects of monitoring and strengthening
Sammanfattning : Probabilistic methods are presented for the assessment of bridges. Load carrying capacity calculations and evaluations of strengthening methods are carried out for three road bridges in northern Sweden: 1) The E4-bridge over Pite River - A four span steel beam bridge with a concrete deck built in 1969.
