  1. 31. Limiting conditions for a sustained flame over condensed fuels : Analysis by experiments and stagnant layer theory

    Författare :Frida Vermina Plathner; Avdelningen för Brandteknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Critical mass flux; diffusion flame; extinction; sustained ignition; chemical heat of combustion; Convective heat transfer coefficient; external heat flux;

    Sammanfattning : Ignition and extinction characteristics of a material determine whether a fire will be initiated and grow. In fire safety engineering, where modellers deal with a multitude of materials, simplified thresholds are commonly used to determine when ignition and extinction occur. LÄS MER

  2. 32. Nuclear magnetic resonance and microcirculation: The influence of pulsatile brain-tissue motion on measurements of intravoxel incoherent motion and assessment of haemodynamics using exo- and endogenous tracers

    Författare :Ronnie Wirestam; Lund Medicinsk strålningsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; diagnostic radiology; cortical activation; diffusion; tumor; tumour; ischemic stroke; ischaemic stroke; tracer kinetics; bolus tracking; phase mapping; brain motion; intracranial dynamics; blood flow; haemodynamics; vascularity; MRS; perfusion; MRI; magnetic resonance; Clinical physics; radiology; tomography; medical instrumentation; Klinisk fysiologi; radiologi; tomografi; medicinsk instrumentering;

    Sammanfattning : In this project, the potential of magnetic resonance (MR) imaging and spectroscopy in studies of microcirculation and haemodynamics was evaluated. The spatial and temporal characteristics of human pulsatile brain-tissue movements in healthy individuals, relevant for the understanding of the cerebrospinal-fluid (CSF) circulation and the pathogenesis of hydrocephalus, were thoroughly investigated. 3. 33. Essays on Economic Voting, Cognitive Dissonance, and Trust

    Författare :Mikael Elinder; Sören Blomquist; Henrik Jordahl; David Strömberg; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Economic voting; Voting; Regional economic conditions; Political attitudes; Cognitive dissonance; Social capital; Trust; Economic growth; Robustness; Applied econometrics; Elections; Self-interest; Election promise; Pocketbook voting; Prospective voting; Retrospective voting; Child care; Local economic conditions; Economics; Nationalekonomi; Economics; Nationalekonomi;

    Sammanfattning : Essay 1: (with Henrik Jordahl and Panu Poutvaara) We present and test a theory of prospective and retrospective pocketbook voting. Focusing on two large reforms in Sweden, we establish a causal chain from policies to sizeable individual gains and losses and then to voting. LÄS MER

  4. 34. Elastohydrodynamic lubrication and lubricant rheology in refrigeration compressors

    Författare :Ulf Jonsson; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Maskinelement; Machine Elements;

    Sammanfattning : The introductory chapter gives a general description of the lubrication of rolling element bearings in refrigeration compressors and rheological properties of oil-refrigerant mixtures. The influence of refrigerants on the viscosity, pressure-viscosity coefficient and film forming ability in a EHD-contact is described. LÄS MER

  5. 35. Chloride Transport in Concrete - Measurement and Prediction

    Författare :Luping Tang; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Sammanfattning : This doctoral work has been carried out to try to classify the basic theories involved in chloride transport in concrete, and at the same time to develop a measurement method and a prediction model for concrete structures submerged in sea water. Chloride binding accompanies almost all the transport processes and has a significant influence on chloride transport. LÄS MER
