21. Molecular investigations of atmospherically relevant interface processes: ice formation and water accommodation on ice and organic surfaces
Sammanfattning : Clouds and aerosols play important roles in the climate system by affecting on atmospheric chemistry, the radiation budget of the atmosphere, and the water cycle including the formation of precipitation. Climate models with predictive power require quantitative descriptions of aerosols and clouds, but several key processes remain to be fully understood. LÄS MER
22. Cracking in Reinforced Concrete Structures Due to Imposed Deformations
Sammanfattning : This thesis is concerned with modeling of the cracking process in reinforced concrete due to imposed deformations. Cracking is investigated both at early ages, during hydration, and at mature age when the final properties of the concrete are reached. LÄS MER
23. Predicting the Long-Term Insulation Performance of District Heating Pipes
Sammanfattning : The aim of the studies that comprise this thesis was to predict the heat loss over timefrom a range of district heating pipes insulated with closed-cells foam. The thermalconductivity of the foam changes over time when it is not diffusion-tight encapsulatedagainst the environment, as diffusion alters the cell gas composition until it reachesequilibrium with the surrounding air. 24. The Influence of Steel Sheet Surface-Topography on Friction in Stamping
Sammanfattning : Steel sheet is the prevalent material for car body panels. In the manufacturing of steel sheets a certain surface roughness is achieved from the ground or textured rolls used in the three final reduction steps. When manufacturing car body panels the sheets first are formed and then painted. LÄS MER
25. Computational Analysis of Aqueous Drug Solubility – Influence of the Solid State
Sammanfattning : Aqueous solubility is a key parameter influencing the bioavailability of drugs and drug candidates. In this thesis computational models for the prediction of aqueous drug solubility were explored. LÄS MER
