16. Studies of flow duct acoustics with applications to turbocharged engines
Sammanfattning : A number of experimental and theoretical studies, performed in the field of technical flow duct acoustics are presented in this thesis. The acoustical methods treated are implemented on turbocharged IC-engines and engine gas exchange system components. A new method based on the well-known two-load technique has been developed. 17. Aroma Partition and Release from Soft Drinks, Jam, and Jellied Sweets
Sammanfattning : The research described in the present thesis was focused on the influence of food ingredients and structures on the partition and release of aroma compounds from model systems such as soft drinks, jam, and jellied sweets. The effects on aroma release were studied during both static and dynamic conditions, the latter by both model mouth and in-nose measurements. LÄS MER
18. Influences of the Graphite Phase on Elastic and Plastic Deformation Behaviour of Cast Irons
Sammanfattning : The amount and morphology of the graphite phase largely controls the resulting properties of cast iron. For instance, in flake graphite cast irons the mechanical properties are low while the thermal conductivity is high. LÄS MER
19. Crystallization of Parabens : Thermodynamics, Nucleation and Processing
Sammanfattning : In this work, the solubility of butyl paraben in 7 pure solvents and in 5 different ethanol-water mixtures has been determined from 1 ˚C to 50 ˚C. The solubility of ethyl paraben and propyl paraben in various solvents has been determined at 10 ˚C. LÄS MER
20. Molecular investigations of atmospherically relevant interface processes: ice formation and water accommodation on ice and organic surfaces
Sammanfattning : Clouds and aerosols play important roles in the climate system by affecting on atmospheric chemistry, the radiation budget of the atmosphere, and the water cycle including the formation of precipitation. Climate models with predictive power require quantitative descriptions of aerosols and clouds, but several key processes remain to be fully understood. LÄS MER
