  1. 1. Inertia in Sociotechnical Systems : On IT-related Change Processes in Organisations

    Författare :Thomas Lind; Åsa Cajander; Bengt Sandblad; Marta Lárusdóttir; Netta Iivari; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Human-Computer Interaction; User-Centred Design; Participatory Design; Organisational Change; IT-related Change Processes; Action Research; Inertia; Sociotechnical Systems; Vision Seminars; Datavetenskap med inriktning mot människa-datorinteraktion; Computer Science with specialization in Human-Computer Interaction;

    Sammanfattning : The introduction of new information technology (IT) in an organisation is one way of changing the conditions for how tasks and work processes can be designed and performed, as well as how people in the organisation interact with each other. Today, many Swedish workers rely completely on IT to be able to perform their jobs, while experiencing a combination of continuous and intermittent IT-related changes that affect this ability. 2. 2. Optimization modeling of frequency reserves and inertia in the transition to a climate-neutral electricity system

    Författare :Jonathan Ullmark; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; generation expansion planning; frequency reserves; inertia; Energy system modeling; synthetic inertia; frequency control;

    Sammanfattning : The ongoing transition towards electricity production systems that are dominated by wind and solar power challenge both the traditional strategy for meeting a varying electricity demand and the traditional way of controlling the AC frequency of the electricity grid. This work investigates how frequency reserves (FR) and inertia, as well as inter-hourly variation management interact in the transition to a climate-neutral electricity system. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Inertia and practice change related to greenhouse gas reduction : Essays on institutional entrepreneurship and translation in Swedish agri-food

    Författare :Herman Stål; Karl Johan Bonnedahl; Jessica Eriksson; Peter Dobers; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Inertia; climate change; sustainability; agriculture; institutional entrepreneurship; institutional logics; convergent change; divergent change; practice; translation; Tröghet; klimatförändring; hållbarhet; jordbruk; institutionellt entreprenörskap; institutionella logiker; konvergent förändring; divergent förändring; praktik; översättning; företagsekonomi; Business Studies;

    Sammanfattning : To avoid dangerous climate change a massive reduction in greenhouse gas emissions is required in a relative short time span. However, as development is moving in the wrong direction, there appears to be great inertia in changing activities. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Print or Perish? : A Study of Inertia in a Regional Newspaper Industry

    Författare :Claes Thorén; John Sören Pettersson; Alf Westelius; Karlstads universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Organizational change; inertia; newspaper industry; Information Systems; Informatik;

    Sammanfattning : The newspaper industry has in the last few decades experienced a gradual but steady decline. The cause of this decline and potential ways of counteraction have been under considerable debate recently both in the industry and in academia. LÄS MER

  5. 5. The influence of inertia on the rotational dynamics of spheroidal particles suspended in shear flow

    Författare :Tomas Rosén; Fredrik Lundell; Minh Do-Quang; Johan Revstedt; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Fluid mechanics; dispersed particle flows; inertia; non-spherical particles; non-linear dynamics; Engineering Mechanics; Teknisk mekanik;

    Sammanfattning : Dispersed particle flows occur in many industrial, biological and geophysical applications. The knowledge of how these flow behave can for example lead to improved material processes, better predictions of vascular diseases or more accurate climate models. LÄS MER
